Drinking in the garage part 1.

I was going to grab three bottles of Chapter 3 when I went to a concert but that was late March and the concert got postponed. Inventory says they are still there at last check.

Chapter 3 is good, man. For me, the favorite of the three. Not sure it's wroth picking up 3 bottles though as they certainly are up there in price.

Awesome flight @chrismurda ! Did you finish the night off with the Cairdeas? :p

@ChaosRock
None of the bottles were from my collection. I was fortunate enough to hang out with a buddy who enjoys whiskeys as much as I do. It’s always a new flight when we find ourselves in the garage without poker while the wives are inside with their white claws and tequila. He chose the flight ranging in smoky, cask strength and sherry casks. We ended with the Peatz The Cairrdeas was pour 4.

Very nice selection indeed, man! Even including a bourbon in there. I'm a fan of all of them, although granted, the Soloist and the Peat Reak I have are from different casks. Most of my friends are more of beer drinkers so I usually have to do my Malt flights by myself, LOL! Again, well done!

Ummm ever since visiting you my go to has been to buy three bottles. One to drink, one to share and one to save.

Oops, wrong thread on the original post....

Picked up these yesterday. Both tasty! Old grandad is a really great value for the taste IMO.

The Woodinville won some awards recently and it's somewhat local so I figured I'd try it out, needs more tasting but my initial pour was good!

Woodinville is alright - not great, but not bad. Interested to hear what you think of Old Grand-Dad.

@Josh Kifer raves about that bottle of Bonded. Says it's a great value. But what does he know? ;) I've never tried it. Can't find it here.

I enjoyed the short pour I tasted last night. I was making cocktails so I didn't pour a full dram to really get into. Initial thoughts are that it was very tasty for a $25 bottle. Sweet on the front but with a nice bite due to the slightly higher proof and the higher rye mash bill. Will need to do some more tasting and comparing :)

That's the stuff, best swill you can buy for 18 bucks a bottle (locally). It's my "going to a friend's house and gotta bring whiskey but don't wanna be the dude who brought Jack" whiskey....

It's certainly better than Jack for the same price!

The question for me is if it's better than Bulleit, Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare, Elijah Craig SB, etc. Those are all around the $25 mark here.

Old Forester 100 will be a good comparison, near same price and same proof.

I love eagle rare, but it's around 35 where I am at. Old Granddad BIB Its a fine general whiskey, not a home run hitting one. I never take home a bottle I bring over, so it's my easy answer.

I'm always on the lookout for something new. But Bulliet, Bulleit Rye, and Eagle Rare are my go to 'sharing bottles'. Almost everyone likes them...
