Buttery, you say? That's what makes me a Maker's Mark fan...

I do like wheated bourbon, but when I first got into bourbon 30 years ago, I loved the butteryness of MM. It's been my go to ever since. Are you sure it's not the wheat
30 years... That's a lotta love for MM! I know you have a MM themed table; is there a custom MM CPC set in the works???I do like wheated bourbon, but when I first got into bourbon 30 years ago, I loved the butteryness of MM. It's been my go to ever since.
No, just an Ambassador set. Because I am an official MM Ambassador...30 years... That's a lotta love for MM! I know you have a MM themed table; is there a custom MM CPC set in the works???
It's more of a big glass of ice, glug, glug, glug kind of bourbon. No glencairne needed.Ive never tried a makers mark and have no reason not to. Is it as “buttery” as Elmer t Lee?
Elmer T Lee is tough to find around here. It's more of a big glass of ice, glug, glug, glug kind of bourbon. No glencairne needed.

Just had 1.5 Old fashioneds. Damn grandson's got excited while we were playing a matching game and spilled it. So I moved on to Elijah Craig 136.8 proof, neat (well, with one ice cube lol).
If you like old fashioneds (I do). Try that Breckinridge spiced I posted above. It’s has spices and brown sugar. So it’s basically a premade old fashioned. It’s a lil sweeter than I make mine but it was still good
Great. So which MM should I be looking for@joeyshin I'm a Buffalo Trace fan and I definitely prefer MM over ETL.
@Klobberer this Ambassador approves of those chips!
I wish they would make a 15 year or so cask strength MM.
On a seperate note, it’s been a while since I’ve had one of these.

Agreed, batch 12 (132 proof?) Is amazing. Batch 13 (128.4 proof?) is very good... Just not as spectacularYou'll be surprised then. They are getting better and better. Batch 12 is phenomenal.
I'm a live and let live kinda guy...I couldn't remember the last time I had MM, but it was at least 15+ years ago before I started really getting interested in whisk(e)ys.
A few weeks ago on a new bottle hunt, I found it on sale and picked up a 750. I hate to say it but I don't like it. It's got a slightly phenolic nose that isn't unpleasant, but it hits my palate as smooth but overly sweet, then way too much boozy bite for 90 proof. I will probably save it for cocktails or the next home game.
I'm sorry, @Klobberer. I didn't come here to make any enemy.
Not a fan personally. There isn't enough going on with it. Now the Dark Rye is pretty damn good
