Having the same thing right now!

Er, I was...

Saw some Kentucky Owl Rye Last Batch at my "Gucci" grocery store (I only get there once every six months, if that, it's not on my route to anywhere hardly ever) today for $275 plus 7% tax. If I was a higher roller, they had 4 or 5 bottles, and I would have gotten some!

I'll be drinking tonight. My 97.5 year old grandma, my last living grandparent, went into hospice today. I was hoping she'd make it to 100, but she was chasing birds off of her porch, fell and broke her femur, and it's been all downhill ever since. Everybody when you get a chance, toast my 97 year old grandma who was CHASING BIRDS OFF OF HER PORCH. :D (I'm too tall to live to be 97, but if I make it to like 82, I'll chase some birds off of my porch that day in her honor lol)
Catching up on old posts. Cheers to your grandma! She's just a couple months older than my mother who turned 97 in January. It's hard watching them get older and not be able to do the things they did before.

I have been in contact for a few months discussing options with a few other PCFers, and one again we will once again be doing a New Riff Barrel Pick.

I am looking at June 2nd for the selection which would lead to pickup the 1st week of July.

This is important

I found last year shipping is a real pain in the ass and as I appear to only have 1 person this year that I know will be avilable to help with pickup and shipping I am limiting shipped orders to 20 people. Also I found 4 bottles was the most that comfortably fit in a box packed safely for shipping.

In short this means shipped orders will be limited to 20 orders of a max of 4 bottles each.

If you are able to come to the pickup at the distillery, or can come meetup with someone who can make the pickup at the distillery then obviously you don't have to take up one of those 20 shipped spots.

Bottle Information
New Riff Bourbon
Aged a minimum of 4 years
Bottled non chill filtered at barrel proof
minimum amount of bottles 60, final bottle count must be multiple of 6.
cost: $65/Bottle ( + shipping cost if being shipped)

As last year the total payment will be due 7 days prior to the barrel selection.

Like last year I will be keeping this in this thread as it just seems the proper place.

If you would like in please respond with the number of bottles you would like so I can start gatehring information.

Here is the current list and bottle count, those highlighted in yellow need shipped

Hope this is still current and I didn't pick a bad time to take a couple days off from the thread. I'll take 2 for sure and checking with my boys to see if they want any. So I may bump up to 4.

Two new acquisitions:

(sorry, no Nixie clock in the background, only a mostly finished LEGO build. I have the clock set to turn off at midnight to preserve the tubes and to tell me "Hey!! Go home!!").

A couple local picks. The Doc Swinson's is a hand-selection (think BBNAGB done by the tap-room) was very well received as a sample at the end of the bar (yours truly included) and the Sentinel came highly recommended by the folks in the seats to my right (I'm looking forward to sampling that bottle based on the comments I heard by my bar-mates).

[Unsolicited advice: Aways chat up your bar-staff and be friendly and kind to them. They tend to like you in return and will offer tastes of things you might not seek out on your own and ultimately wind up liking and buying as a result! Chatting up like-minded folks at the bar often gets similar results, minus the samples. ).

Wife’s birthday is next week and her favorite bourbon is old forester. She has said birthday bourbon is her unicorn bottle.

I have booked a weekend at the lake resort where dirty dancing was filmed (her favorite movie) and got her this

I went to school at Virginia tech. Mountain lake is right there. Beautiful area. Be sure to hike up the cascades and swim under the waterfall
