It’s new. First batch I believe. I’ve got one waiting for me in TN. :whistling::wtf:
It is their first batch apparently. Just did a quick Google-fu on it…excited to try this after what I found out.

I don’t recall ever seeing the standard offering in any stores around here either. Store I found this at had 8 or 9 of them on the shelf.

I just got one a month ago in Louisville. Not yet open.

Really interesting evening. Had an introduction to Indian whiskeys. I wish I had more of a sharp pallet to define what I was tasting, but it was largely unlike other whiskeys I’ve had. Some peat, some oak, but a host of interesting flavors. I think the Kamet was my favorite.

Prepping for mothers day brunch tomorrow:

View attachment 1134169

Attending will be both sets of parents and my sister's family and her inlaws. Opposite end of the spectrum political views, and all very vocal. Accompanying my inlaws will be my wife's 96 year old totally confused grandfather who loves making random wildly sexual comments and gestures. And then my son decided it would be an awesome time for them all to meet his first girlfriend. What could go wrong????

Lol, I had to bring out the big guns....
what's gonna be in your flask?

Dammit...just heard that another one of my honey holes was sold to new owners. This is the third one. They laid off the staff (who were absolutely fantastic, and not just because they kept an eye out for unicorns for me), which is a real shame. I know the margins at liquor stores can be razor thin, but this is a real loss, and seems like a race to the bottom.

Let's pour one out for the store that sold me the following at MSRP:

Weller 12 (x 3)
Weller Full Proof (x 2)
MWND
Stagg Jr
Willett 6 Year Rye
Willett 8 Year Bourbon
Van Winkle 12 Year Lot B
...and many other bottles.

:(

Looks like my unicorn days are dwindling....

I lost a honey hole (well two, with the same owner) a few months back. The owner now has all premium whiskey go straight to him to sell online, where he use to let the employees sell at just over retail to their best customers. Damn shame.

And to make it worse, the new owners lose the status the prior owners had with the distributors. Basically, they start all over with respect to getting allocated stuff. And even if they do get it, they have to pay through the nose to get it (or buy a ton of other stock), so they end up marking up the living daylights out of the allocated stuff. One of my stores went from $71 for Stagg Jr to $400. I mean, that's just dumb.

Would have happily joined the Pikesvillle parade, but I already had my whiskey for the evening, downside of living in eastern time zone.
