1200 quid is a bargain for a well thought of limited bottling of 250. I would expect another naught on the end of that price.

"Join us for a spectacular whiskey paired dinner at Bern's Steak House on September 18. Sazerac's State Manager for Florida, Carlos Dinkins, will guide you through this exquisite six-course event prepared by Chef Chad Johnson and the Bern's Steak House Culinary Team. Enjoy the exclusivity of Bern's as guests for this event will have the restaurant privately for the evening. You will have the rare opportunity to sip one ounce pours of each of the Pappy Van Winkle 2022 Releases which include the 10yr, 12yr, 15yr, 20yr & 23yr and the 13yr Rye. "

Anyone going? $1500 for two seats, definitely not cheap!

One thing that made me laugh yesterday was the latest in marketing spin from the whisky industry.

They’re finding it harder and harder to get Sherry casks so they’ve had to use new unused casks. Previously this would never happen.

Anyway the new marketing term is “virgin cask”.

And they’re now trying to push that as a good thing. People are saying “ooh virgin cask, that’s amazing, you can really taste how pure it is” :ROFLMAO:

You guys pay mental prices for whiskies over there. You’re about double what we pay for a lot of things.

I only recently understood how peated scotch is made and how manually intensive bog cutting is. (I don’t really enjoy peated scotch and so was never eager to understand it.) Peat is also a horrible fuel source, but that’s another topic for another forum.
