Met a gentleman last night at the Bourbon County Stout tasting event that stated he had over 3000 UNOPENED bottles of bourbon at home. Wasn't sure how many were opened.

Said that when he travels into a state that has liquor controlled prices and finds something good, he'll just buy 10+ bottles. (Like EC 18 that he paid ~ $150 for).

I should have got his information and such. :-(

Is his name @Saoliver ?

Nick Stoddard?

He’s a guy in the local FB Whisky group who has probably 5k of bottles. He has shelving aisles in his basement all full of bottles. Looks like a store.
Does he live in the Arnold/Annapolis area? We were in Arnold last night. Beard with white streaks through it

Nah. He’s not that old. Prob late 20s early 30s. There’s another guy locally that has a beard like Ben used to have and he prob has couple thousand bottles too. George something.

How the heck did you get the Bourbon County already? I didn't think they released them before Black Friday.
It doesn’t……. :cool

We had a special event. Stores get them well in advance, but can’t release to the public before Friday. Anything not purchased at that event went back into inventory (which was 0) and released Friday

Nice. Now I understand why I can never get the really great variants.

I know I am not the first to state this on this thread...so adding my voice to the choir: Wild Turkey Rare Breed is phenomenal! 101 has been my go to home "well bourbon". But just tried Rare Breed barrel proof for first time this weekend. As good a bourbon as I have ever had!

Yep! The Rye is also fantastic

I’ve used 101 for a long time as a go to for old fashioneds. Rare Breed and most of the other WT variants are way way too sweet for me.
