The Peterhead vs Falkirk game is now known as the “Columbo derby”

Who takes the world cup this year?

I’d love to see Kevin De Bruyne lead the Belgians to the title. They seem strong but I haven’t been watching closely.

What are y’all’s predictions?

Honestly a crapshoot to me.

I'd favor France to repeat if they weren't already missing Kante, Pogba, and Varane. I'd still feel ok wagering on them but their midfield is a bit suspect and Lloris is four years older.

Germany is pretty strong all around always. Not much star power this year but they're just so deep at all positions.

Does Ronaldo finally bring Portugal glory in his swan song?

Argentina is going to disappoint. The team overall is worse than the last 10 years and Messi is worse.

Too much pressure on Brazil. A disciplined European team will knock them out.

I'd say England but they always find a way to bottle it.

Belgium has one of the best players in the world currently in De Bruyne but I don't think he's enough. Their defense is super old.

Italy isn't even in it.

Ripe for a shock team to come out of nowhere and win it all...

Brazil as the safe bet — imagine having so much talent to choose from that you don't even have Martinelli or Jesus in your squad for Qatar. It's there's to lose.

Portugal as the outside bet — on paper, they have the best defence in the world right now. They'll miss Jota, but Ronaldo will inevitably turn up on the biggest stage of them all, and they'll find their way to the final with a series of 1-0 wins.

Will be a tall order after losing your opening game against us...

Actually, anyone going to be in Vegas on the 21st for that Wales vs USA clash? Where's the best place to watch football (sorry, soccer) on the strip?

Sports bar in Caesar’s Palace is good. I watched the champions league final there. Was out ma nut but I think it was good  :ROFLMAO:

For me France will win.
They always have the luck of the champion with them and they have the top scorers with Benzema and Mbappé.

The semi-finals will be 4 european teams imo.

Good shout!

Don't worry, I'll be the same... land in Vegas at 7pm local time on the Wednesday, then will chug some Red Bulls; play a midnight tournie at Caesars and take it down; smoke a cigar at one of their cigar lounges for breakfast; start drinking and turn up an emotional, half cut mess for the game and inevitably start crying at the Welsh national anthem just before kickoff at midday.

Normal Monday night then

Can't wait to hear Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau ringing out tomorrow at a world cup for the first time in nearly 70 years.

The USA can win all their other games, just not their first one.
You Welsh?

Qatar getting a sketchy VAR offside goal in the first 3 minutes....hmmmmmm:bigbucks:
Dumb rule. I tried to see it but everything reported was that his foot was ahead of the 2nd to last defender. SECOND TO LAST defender.

This happens every 1000 games or what? I've never seen it called like that (albeit I really only watch World Cup)

Germany might have a shot if they could invade Poland again and steal Lewandowski. Brazil will win, and the Netherlands will make a deep run.
