I take Germany over the Nederlands any day - :ROFLMAO:.

Brazil is Brazil, but I don’t see it this time. Just like the last 10+ times - lol.

You can’t discount Belgium either.

I feel like they’re getting too old, they missed their opportunity. That said, you never know with De Bruyne, he might be the best player in the world right now.

The first Wales game I went to see 29 years ago when we had a chance to qualify for USA '94:

Nearly 29 years later to the day, I'm out in Vegas to finally realise the dream. Unfortunately, my Grandad couldn't quite make it to see this historic moment, so today will be a very, very emotional day for me. Yma o hyd...

Hope the welsh wizards play well. Enjoy yourself no matter the result. Cheers to your grandad.

My Sons Liverpool F.C., Michigan coach for the past 4 years is from Cardiff and he's pulling for Wales obviously but all his players are already talking shite and if the USA wins he has to run with them all week, haha. Go USA
He's in capable hands with a coach from Cardiff, in that case. It's where all the best Welsh people are from!

Fair result. USA should have scored more in first half but didn’t create any chances. Wales much better in second half and should have taken chances. Bale and Ramsey look unfit. Both had a poor touch.

Just a stupid penalty to give up there. Congrats to Wales though both team played their hearts out.

I think it was a fair result also, but of course disappointed we didn't find a winner.

Will probably come down to which of us pummeled Iran more

Iran game is key now — and whoever can maybe sneak a point from the England game.

Fair result. USA were great in the first half and we were better in the second. Highlight of the game for me was an American guy behind me at Blondie's sports bar calling an intentional foul from one of the US players at the end "a good penalty" — for a free kick.

US is in trouble.

They absolutely needed all 3 points today to have a good chance of going through. They'll give England a game but will ultimately come up short, I think. Iran will have likely lost two games and will be playing the US like they have absolutely nothing to lose, and add on that they absolutely hate the US on a personal level. Puts the US in a very bad spot in a very hostile situation in what will need to be a must win.

Bale was shocking but nobody else could have put that penalty away so well under pressure. He was a blessing and a curse today, tbh.

Idiot challenge. A draw makes it very interesting now.

I'm somewhat partial to both teams, but my prediction is that Bales will get the job done now and finish second in the group.

It's coming home.

Dumb rule. I tried to see it but everything reported was that his foot was ahead of the 2nd to last defender. SECOND TO LAST defender.

This happens every 1000 games or what? I've never seen it called like that (albeit I really only watch World Cup)
There is always a requirement to have 2 players behind the ball to remain onside.

99 times out of 100, this is the keeper and the last defender.

In this scenario, the keeper being off his line means that he is creating the offside line and the furthest back defender has assumed the position the goalkeeper is usually in.

I think the argument for this offside is that when the header is made whilst the keeper is in the air challenging for the ball, the player who receives the ball after this encounter was the player who's leg was further ahead of the field than the goalkeeper who was now creating the offside line.

I thought Bale was so far off the pace it was frightening. His second touch was a tackle  :ROFLMAO:

I understand that both him and Ramsay are legends in the Welsh game but they both looked done. I saw Ramsay playing for Rangers last season and he was shite. They got on the pitch based on reputation not form. No room for sentimentality if Wales want to progress...

The Qataris are apparently regretting hosting this World Cup. Seeing it as $200bn wasted. Been nothing but negative PR for them regarding the spotlight on LGBTQ rights, allegations of corruption behind their bid to host, poor treatment of foreign workers… and they’re shite at football  :ROFLMAO:

Personally, I think today was just an off day for Bale. I think the same can be said for lots of the players. Expecting a lot of them to bounce back against Iran and show us their potential.

If you left the talisman on the bench I don't think ales would be very good.

Though I had another look back at the squad and it's really quite solid. Agree on Ramsey though he's long last his best days, but he's still got the quality to do a good job in the centre of the pitch at international level.

I think the commentators said that Ramsay has only made 2 appearances this season and Bale 3 this calendar year. How can they possibly be match fit?

If Wales want to progress are those two going to help or hinder?

Gotta disagree with you there, Mike. We've got plenty of great young talent to be able to cope without Bale — we started so slowly today and I think that was just down to nerves.

Tony, agree that match fitness is a big concern for both players, but I'd be hesitant about ever leaving Bale on the bench. He only needs one free kick or long-range shot to change a game, so I wouldn't ever want to be without him at a World Cup game.

Suppose time will tell but it’s a big risk carrying a passenger in the hope that you get a free kick. I get that he’s a legend for the Welsh but on last night’s showing he’s nowhere near match fit. His touch was poor as well.
Ramsay looked like a competition winner  :ROFLMAO:
