These are from 1959... but not really playable by themselves obviously

Love the old school chips

Oh, I’m sure Danny can for sure - lol. Maybe @Lil Tuna can as well. They both have some fantastic old school sets.

I was also thinking of those Holidays, I thought they were from that era as well.

I love the old school sets!

I was chatting with someone earlier about older playable casino sets and was curious what’s out there on PCF. I have a set from the early 60s that I love but what else is out there? Anything from the 50s or 40s?

Not a casino set, but I have this playable set of bone chips from the 1910s.

Tientsin, China Sims & Co. Bone Poker Chip Set with Monogrammed Case. China, ca. 1910s. Mahogany case with silver monogram to lid “CLS,” for the original owner, a Carl Lorenze Seitz, and Sims & Co. Tientsin (China) plaque inside. Seven rows of polished bone chips stained white, red, green, and blue. Approximately 500 chips total (diam. 1 ½”), two concentric circles. Obtained by the consignor from Seitz’s grandson, and accompanied by email correspondence about the set. Overall size 13 3/8 x 9 ¼ x 2 ¾”. Seam gap to lid, probably from wood contraction. Handsome set.

Someone has a playable set of these:

These are from the Chesterfield Club in Detroit, an underground casino run by mobsters in the 1920s. The "CC" chips were also later used by the same mobsters in the Nevada Club in Reno in the 1940s.

A playable set of these was listed on eBay in 2016. No telling who owns that set now, but it exists. See https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/chesterfield-club-800pc-set.12192/

Also not a casino set, but I have an 800-chip set of these monogrammed web molds. Based on their weight, @Jeff in Iowa suspects they were made by USPCC in the 1930s or 1940s, before Burt bought their equipment in the mid-1940s. Eighty years old and dead mint.

The old molds are so great

Some truly vintage sets here! My oldest is a mixed set of Burt / ASM / Paulson Diamond set from 70s-80s.

Not as old as some of these amazing TRKs, but they clean up great!

Any of the Greek Key, Web, or Roman molds are amazing. Other than HCE I can’t think of a better mold. It’s a shame they are obsolete.
