Cool thread btw! Potsie was my high school nickname as they thought I looked like Potsie Webber from Happy Days. I swear nobody knew my real name. It was always "Hey Pots"! I added the 1 because potsie was taken. :)

And here I am always skimming your user name thinking it was Postie.

Went to visit friends in college, I used to always wear these pajama pants that had moose on them. Same night I passed out on the floor next to the garbage. Dirty moose was born.

Mine should be pretty self explanatory. I'm president of the National Dairy Council...

Jk, I actually just love cheese so it was this or hemidartguy.

I was actually thinking you were full of corny jokes. Which, admittedly, is still somewhat true.

My username comes from Zippidee doo dah, I just didn't like how Zippidee was spelled, and changed it to Zippity.

Drove to the grocery store, almost hit a dog on the way there. On the way back, there's that same little dog, still dodging traffic. So the wife and I spent the next hour chasing him in the August heat, poor guy was tired, thirsty, hungry, full of fleas and mean as the devil when we finally cornered him. It was three days before he finally stopped biting me. We cleaned him up, took him to the vet, found a really good home for him (that took me three months), then I spent $100 to buy him back from the guy because my kids were writing letters to Santa saying they didn't want any presents, they just wanted Stanley the dog to come back home. Sheesh.

Right at that time the carpet cleaner company Stanley Steamer had a full page ad in the paper, the ad showed a little dog that looked like a twin to this guy. He was looking up at the camera with the words "Didn't get home in time?" written above the dog (as if you now need your carpets cleaned because you didn't get home in time). So there was his name - Stanley Steamer!

Somehow along the way, 15 years later, his name had morphed into The Big Teamer. Or at least one of his names, he had a bunch. I use it here as a tribute.

Mine is extremely boring. My name and initial. I usually use Warius, which is basically just my name with a M flipped upside down, but registering here i somehow didnt use it.

I'm a movie fan, my wife and I had our wedding dinner at a restaurant called Bogart's in Cancun and our cat's name was Bogart.
On Ct it's just my initials and favorite number: jb12

Mine's just a truncated version of my last name. It's what I usually have kids I meet call me since it's easier to say than my last name.

When i was 13 I played on a travel Baseball team.... we had a zany dominican center fielder, who was from the inner city and he came up with all of our "hood-rat" names. Justin - Justycia, Kevin - Keisha, Tim - T'myra. Sean - was Sha-nay-nay. Stuck from there, I've been Nay-Nay or Nay since the late 90s.

I thought you just really liked that song. "Watch me whip now watch me nay nay."

I guess you can say the origin is from my father who named me David after King David in the Bible. So anyway, take that and the first letter of my last name and there you have it. Pretty boring I know but I was in a hurry to buy chips when I signed up. I totally forgot to use any of the nicknames I grew up with.

Eastwood because, well, I really like cinema and western movies. I always found fun the fact that in BTTF, Marty used this fake name. And "Kid" for some reasons : it's a nickname quite used in western movies, because people usually say I seem younger (around 20) than I'm (30) and because I found that "Kid" is close to "Clint" to make the transition to the second part of my nickname.

One of my favorite movies is Gladiator. I always liked the line in the beginning where Maximus says "strength and honor."

There are many ways this phrase can be translated to Latin, my favorite being "Virtus et decus." Hence the name Virtus was born.

History lesson:

In ancient Rome the virtue of virtus carried connotations of valor, manliness, excellence, courage, and character.

My avatar is a Roman coin honoring Virtus, the diety of bravery and military strength of Roman mythology.

Hmm, now I'm thinking I should do a custom "Virtus" poker chip....

This is the short version -- My name is Rex, I'm from Texas, but I went to law school in Virginia. Shortly after arriving, I got on a softball team. The assistant coach found out I was from Irving, Texas, home of the Dallas Cowboys. We were in the heart of Redskin country. (It was 1989 and the only game the Cowboys won that year was against the Redskins.) He asked if I was a Cowboy fan, and I told him yes. He was too (but no one on the team knew he was until then. I was the third Cowboy fan on the team, the the rest decided we had the 13 Redskin fans outnumbered.) After our game, someone said "Let's go get Mexican food." Less than two weeks, and I was already starving for Mexican, so I was excited. Then they announced Taco Bell. I explained Taco Bell is not Mexican food, it's fast food. Then as a joke, I told them in Texas we referred to it as the Mexican Phone Company. The assistant coach asked if I liked authentic Mexican or Tex-Mex. When I said Tex-Mex, he dubbed me Tex-Rex. It was actually a take off on Tex-Mex, but it stuck and everyone assumes it's because I'm Rex from Texas.
