Is the new Paulson elite chips good for a beginner
Thank you. What would you recommend keep in mind I'm in Canada so I don't want to get beat up by the extange rate and import taxDepends on what you like. Get samples
Ok thank you would you also recommend majestic ps I have been following. Hobby philic on YTYes! None of the other beginner chips come close to the Elite's, and I personally would highly recommend them over anything else considered to be a beginner chip. Get samples for sure, but they handle and feel pretty much exactly like any other Paulson chip.
Ok Ty one complaint I have of the bat is the fact that there is no 10 or 50 denominationYeah, they are.
To be clear, they're not Paulsons, and I don't even think they're elite. But they are top quality mint compressed clay chips for under a buck apiece. And how much do you need to spend to get a better quality chip? I'm not sure $2 would get you there. I'm thinking you'd need to spend $3 or $4 to get a better quality chip.
These chips have some aesthetic issues. Very very few people would intentionally design a set of chips with all white edge spots. And these chips have giant sized inlays, which a whole lot of people don't adore. But those are matters of taste. In terms of quality, these are top notch. You could spend half as much on chips, but what you would get would be poo, comparatively speaking.

TyThere’s quite a few Canadian members here that might have samples of compression clay, injection molded plastic, ceramic, ceramic hybrid, and China Clay chips that you could buy. Some members here will sometimes offer to send you samples, gratis, especially if you’re new to chipping and/or the forums. Others might offer to send you some as long as you promise to send them back, again gratis.
Start a WTB(want to buy) ad in the classifieds when you have enough posts. If there’s any chips besides the Paulson Elites that you have interest in mention that in the ad. Also, just so you know, there was recently a group buy for a set of PCF tournament chips that are the exact same base as the Paulson Elites. You could try those if you can’t seems to find an Elite sample.
Good luck, and have fun

Not made by Paulson. Made by GPI. Paulson is one of their trademarked brands, and one that is not applied to this product. They are Gemaco chips, according to the GPI sales info. They are very good chips and made by Paulson....so they are indeed Paulson chips.

Bingo. This is true, and it should be made a little more clear in regards to the “Paulson Elite” chips.
The way they shuffle, handle, and feel is remarkably similar to a Paulson chip. I was expecting more of a BCC type chip, but imo they don’t really feel like BCC at all.
After handling BW Sunfly Hybrids, I’m now convinced that these “Paulson Elite’s” are the best bang for the buck for those after a budget tourney set. I still prefer actual casino chips for a cash set
So are these not actual Paulson chipsBingo.
Same factory as GPI's Blue Chip brand chips, too. Bud Jones injection-molded plastic chips are made there, as well.Right and manufactured in the same factory as GPIs Paulson brand chips.
Correct, they are not Paulson brand chips, and the mold does not have the Paulson's brand trademarked hat & cane markings. They are clay chips produced by GPI and sold as Gemaco brand. So are these not actual Paulson chips

When you say color I think it's important to consider that the colors are determined by and large by the formula of the clay.So what? Paulson the company no longer exists. By your reasoning, Paulson chips aren’t Paulson Chips, they are clay chips produced by GPI and sold as Paulson brand. I fail to understand your motivation on this.
Instead, we should be talking about any real differences between the chips. Everything I see indicates that they are made in the same damn factory with the same damn equipment. Yes a different chosen set of colors. Yes using the No Mold mold instead of the THC or RHC mold. The Paulson No Mold mold has been around forever. Yes grand inlays. Yes There’s is a lot of white. Maybe slightly lesser weight but we all know chip weights vary a good deal even among colors. And a lot less expensive!
Aha! Maybe that is it! I guess you must have some market interest to protect that overrides real discussion, common sense and the fact these were made by a sponsor of this site.
Paulson is the biggest, most recognizable brand in the industry. At least in US casinos. People come to this site looking for PAULSONS, because they’ve been told they’re the best. If they buy these, then find out they’re not Paulsons, how will they feel? Some people might feel great because they got a bargain on a great clay chip that feels like a Paulson and might actually be made from the same clay.So what? Paulson the company no longer exists. Wish this site had a dislike button and a better ui son of PaulMy dad's name is Paul ..... therefore I am Paul's son aka Paulson. Let's talk about me for a while (y)
If I live in Canada and want to buy more than 900 chips from you how can I go about thatJust for fun.
The chip on the left was made by Paulson at the Paulson factory around ten years ago. It was made using what we called at the time their no mold. It weighs 8.0 grams.
The chip on the right was made at the Paulson factory a couple months ago. This chip was made using the same Paulson mold. It weighs 8.1 grams.
Different molds and inlay size affect the weight. I have no problems telling my customers the Elite chips are made by Paulson.
