Back in the early 90's, when I worked at the cost shop, I would smoke the heck out of the Fuente Robust. Hell, so if them really, the 858, Canones, Double Chateau, back then they were about the best smokes going. Oh, don't forget the Partagas #10.
858 was my choice

Made the move over from Boveda Butler to SensorPush sensors with a gateway this past week. Such an improvement! A lot of work and family travel the last few months and barely looking in my humis and boy do I need some more boveda packs! Well, maybe….!

I’ve kept my old hydrometers in the boxes in parallel with the butlers and the hydros are reading ~8-10% RH higher than the SensorPush so I’m going to use a Boveda bag and 69% pack to calibrate the SensorPush. Do others have experience with that?

@JustDave you recommended these (iirc), thank you! Pricey but love the gateway option and the ui/ux is clean and effective.

I've never had an issue with calibration, but I'll admit that the way that I 'calibrated' them as by putting them all in the same humidor, seeing they had the same reading, and went from there.

My humidors are in a bad spot connectivity wise for bluetooth from my phone, like I fire up the app and walk into the room with them so they all pick up the weeks worth of info, so I've been considering the gateway for a while I've just yet to pull the trigger on it.

To follow up, the sensors have now all spent 24 hours together in a Boveda humidor bag with a 69% Boveda pack. Look at that crazy variance in the reading! I might add a larger pack in there and give them 48 hours to see where they get to and calibrate off that.

Has anyone had one of these Plasencia Reserva Original Toros? This one has good flavor, and nice smoke but the draw is terrible.View attachment 1066359
I have one of these sitting in the humidor but haven't smoked it yet. Too bad to hear about the draw. I did just smoke one of the Plasencia Alma Fuerte Salomons and it was fantastic. Construction and draw was excellent, so I'm disappointed to hear it wasn't as good with the Reserva.

I wish I started posting in this sooner, I go to my local cigar lounge every Thursday for their whisk(e)y tasting + cigar event. The last few have been fantastic. Harrerra Esteli from Drew Estate (with Dewars) , Metallicas “M81” (with Whistlepig) and today was an Oliva Serie G (with Hudson NY Whiskey and Monkey Shoulder)

I’ve said it many times in this thread but I’ll say it again. The Alma Fuerte Salomon is by far one if the best sticks to come out in the last 5 years (esp at its reasonable price point)

I really want to make a custom table topper with a cigar & whiskey theme. Picked up another Barrington's via the $85 Wayfair tip, group purchase on the design? Bourbon Street design would be cool, but then I'd have to get chipes to match like everything else we do. lol

Took a good two and a half hours, and I still couldn't get it back the way it was. Have a tray of about 100 loose cigars that I'm going to take to a friend's house tomorrow. I'll never need to buy another box of cigars as long as I live, as long as something catastrophic doesn't occur. Well, I'll need to get a couple more boxes of Cubans, but, other than that I'm good. Or maybe a special Fuente or AJ release. But other than that, and the first thing, I'm good.

Nice setup. avoid Juan Lopez #2 and QD 50s cc's. They suck!

I've never had a Quai, they just fall too low on the pecking order of Cubans, but, I do have a box of Juan Lopez robusto that are decent. They wouldn't be my first choice, but, I don't think they suck. They don't have as much depth and character as some of their counterparts, but, they don't cost as much either.
