PCF Dark Theme Available (3 Viewers)

While you can still opt use dark mode on your mobile device or web browser, an official PCF Dark theme is now available. To switch themes, simply use the Style Chooser located at the bottom left of the page. I’m still fine-tuning a few details, so consider this initial release as a beta version. If you encounter any issues, please don’t hesitate to let me know. Thank you!

Can also use the light bulb icon at the top right to switch between light and dark mode.

I tried that on both mobile and desktop and still have the above issue.

Oddly enough, on my phone I am in dark mode but cannot switch to light. on Desktop it defaulted back to light and cannot switch to dark. my eyes cant take it!!!

I'm trying to reproduce it with a test account. I think it may be a browser cookie issue for some.

The system refers to the mode your computer or device is set to. For example, my Windows 11 computer is set to dark mode, so it defaults to system-dark mode. I can also select dark mode on PCF, and it will remain in dark mode regardless of any changes I make to my PC's settings.

Good call - unfortunately no.

It's odd because I didn't need to make that change with the test account; the switcher functioned immediately. Regardless, I appreciate the information regarding the fix.

I can confirm that this workaround absolutely does do the trick in Chrome on Windows 11. But you do indeed need to go to https://www.pokerchipforum.com/account/preferences to make that change because the switcher in the top right corner of PCF is still acting goofy. Pressing that simply results in the error seen below. Just to be sure I have already completed all of the following steps in this exact order and it did not help:

1. Fully logged out of PCF.
2. Ensured Chrome is updated to Version 131.0.6778.70 (Official Build) (64-bit).
3. Cleared all cookies and browsing data.
4. Completely closed Chrome altogether.
5. Ensured there were no pending updates or security patches for Microsoft Windows.
6. Fully powered off the PC and restarted it from scratch.
7. Opened Chrome and freshly logged back into PCF.
8. Tried using the Light Mode/Dark Mode Switcher in the upper right corner of PCF and received the error stating "Oops! We ran into some problems. Please try again later. More error details may be in the browser console." So it seems the issue is just related to that Light/Dark toggle button.

Similar issues, except I'm still using light mode. Read alerts are colored as unread, and unread alerts are colored as read.

@Tommy - unrelated but maybe it is, it looks like the direct message button next to people's avatars within a thread is gone? I can click a username and click direct message (on the pop up) but that starts a new DM without a subject line.

Same here. I'm able to change light/dark via the Preferences, but not the icon.

As it happens, I prefer the Light mode, and it has changed dramatically. Things seem backwards to what it used to be. (Unread items are dark, Read items are light, not at all appealing.)
