PCF Shows (3 Viewers)

We finished "Dead To Me" last night. This can be seen on Netflix. Colleen and I both really enjoyed it. Both leads are funny when they need to be, and pull off th emotional scenes when required.

The show received 87% on RT. I usually give less credence to the Rottentomatoes score for shows than I do movies. https://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/dead_to_me

Both Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini are very solid in their perspective roles.

A bonus, the episodes are only 30 minutes long :) which is a preference for me.

Just binged Schitt's Creek with the wife. Needed a palette cleanser between disappointing, dark, ominous watches. Its meh. I expected more from that cast and premise. Watched old SCTV vids afterward and laughed a lot more.

Jessica Jones 3 next.

Netflix Series ‘Slutty Teenage Bounty Hunters’ Casts Its Leads

Yes, that is the Title of an upcoming Netflix Series :wow:

We finished S3 of Stranger Things last night. I thought it was fantastic. It actually might be my favorite of the three seasons. I love the characters arc of Steve Harrington since S1.

We're about halfway through and really enjoying it

Wife is TERRIFIED of spiders though, so she looks away whenever "it" makes an appearance

My son and I are plowing through Amazons "The Boys". Were going to watch the season finale tonight. It is excellent. There actually isn't too much super hero stuff going on. Its a "hard R", do don't watch it with you kids.

If your tired of the same old super hero shows then this one if for you.

Damn, you beat me to it! Jenn and I just started watching this also, think we're two or three episodes in (we have a ton of shows we cycle through in rotation)

But yes, definitely enjoying the dark underbelly of the superhero world

Just finished binge watching 1st season of Dead To Me
Great to see Ed Asner in the show.

I watched this show knowing very little about it. I thought it was excellent. I can't wait for S2. I thought the acting, and the chemistry between the two main characters was very solid.

My wife and I just binged Ozark. Awesome show and Jason Bateman knocks it out of the park. Also, without getting political, The Loudest Voice has me hooked. Russell Crow will win an Emmy for that one.

I can't stop laughing at the opening scene of Breaking Bad

Finally had some time to finish Mindhunters on Netflix. I thought it was a great show. I had read some complaints that it starts off a little slow. I didn't think so.

Its based on a couple of FBI guys that are in the Behavioral Science division. They supposedly came up with the "serial killer" term. The show is story driven. Very little violence is actually shown on screen. The characters are solid, great acting. The main guys arc from start to finish might be the highlight of the show.

Tried watching The Wire at work. I know it was supposed to be a great show, but gadzooks, it was slow. After the 3rd episode, the guys in the firehouse declared it a dead show - i.e. I lost my remote control privileges.

So please, if anyone recommends a show, please remember my ability to watch something good was just lost to The Vanilla Ice Project. I'm counting on y'all for good shows when I get the remote back!

Breaking Bad - good from beginning to end
Game Of Thrones - good but last season was absolute trash
The Walking Dead - good again at beginning but really falls in mid seasons. Haven't watched recent stuff
The Good Doctor - really good medical drama, only 2 seasons so far
Black Mirror - each episode is different so you can watch one and come back later and watch a diff one. Some are good, some not.
Chernobyl - really good if you enjoy history and a reenactment of the events which happened

Man, I watch a lot of tv and the wire is in the top five ever. It's modern day Shakespeare. Once you get into the meat of the first season, its a must watch all the way through. Did jimmy crash his car then bang that girl yet? Although, I will admit, it might not play great to a mass viewing setting.

Good Eats returns after a 8ish year hiatus on the 25th, and the Great British Bake Off is like a warm hug. Returns on the 27th.

Just finished S3 of GLOW. I really enjoyed it. All three seasons have been entertaining. The story is fun. The characters are fun. The episodes run between 25 and 45 minutes. Pretty easy to binge.

Wow, this was a rash decision. I was hooked from the start, but the show takes a little bit to flesh everyone and everything out, then rock and roll. Pretty sure Episode 3 isn't even long enough to learn what's really happening and who really matters.

Top 5 series I've ever seen from beginning to end. You at least owe it to yourself to watch it at home. I wish I could watch all again for the first time. Jimmy McNulty is an all-time character.

I may give it a second shot, but the show (at least Ep 1-3) is sadly dated. The comments I heard were "It's like trying to go back and watch Miami Vice. In the day, it was the best thing on TV, but if you watch it now it is sadly campy, predictable, and slow."

I even had to explain to one guy what a pager was.
