With the uncertainty of the CPC's future, I want to place an order for what could be our last opportunity to buy a custom set of clay chips...ever. One idea for an insert design would be to use photography. But I haven't seen any CPC chips using photos as insert art. Are there technical reasons photography is not a suitable medium for insert art? Or is it just that illustrations and line art are more popular for poker chip inserts?

There is the CPC Imperial Plaza set, which uses some alt chips with Iron Maiden inlays, those are pretty "photo"-ish as well. Best would be to check with David from CPC, he will be able to tell you what level of detail will work.

Hmmm, they look pretty good. Thanks for the reply!

Raw photos as inlay art rarely look good. It often looks like a cheap advertisement.
Valid point,....but...I'm a commercial photographer and I shot the images in the mock-ups. Could a new chip set with these inlays be tax deductible as a promo tool? I think so, if I play a game or two with clients. Can't wait to see my accountant's face when I ask him this one.

I don't see why not. You should contact ABC Gifts and Awards (a.k.a. BR Pro), promotional chips are their bread and butter.
