yeah, did some deep digging to find a trail and reached out - they thought they had about 50 of each, and sounded like they were going to sell them to me (they had to find them first as they were still packed up somewhere since their last move).. when they discovered it was over 80 of each, they decided to keep them as a home set...
"I have closer to 90 of each, would like to keep them as a home set seeing has I have enough to" go figure..
Going to continue to try to persuade them (replacement trade/cash), but doesn't look promising...

Yeah big let down as it has been a conversation over the course of a month - being clear I wanted the whole lot, didn't need the $.50 but would take them if it facilitated the deal, them trying to find the chips, saying they would sell them, but once found, nah (well they could do 1 of each...
for which I am still trying to get a price from them 
)

Given the option, I would always pick original chips from the actual set (even if I didn't personally like them). I might add a new semi-custom chip for my playing enjoyment, however.
I hear ya, and if unlimited funds, I'd have no problem buying them.
But I'd add more of the $25s or other denoms before getting the fracs since they have no appeal, use or resale value for me.

For me, the single reason to have them is outnumber and outweighed by the reasons not to buy them.
I'm also not looking for the hotstamp $25s (and at least they have the logo instead of a generic letter hotstamp).
They are expensive, they wouldn't get used, I wouldn't even look at them, they don't match with the set visually.
Am I missing something else?

I just looked at them on chipguide; I didn't realize it was that boring hotstamp chip you pictured above. I'd still want them, but your chips, your call.
Speaking of chipguide though, they don't have anything pictured over the $25. You should hook them up.
And if I didn't make it clear before, those are easily in the top 10 chipsets I've ever seen. Nice.

In my opinion (YMMV) they would just bring down the look of the set... if they at least had the logo hotstamp like the solid green $25 I might think about it for a minute (or if they were cheaper), but they would literally be purchased just to say I have them.. don't get me wrong, I have many chips that haven't seen play, but they all have some appeal to me.
I don't think I'd even include them in a group picture
Already have an email draft for themogh to add the chips, just need to take better individual chip pics for them (y) :thumbsup:
