I would bet the under on that all day everyday. Based on past sales I'd be surprised if the fracs make it 2 minutes. I hope I am wrong.
It's all guesswork. Nobody knows for sure how many fracs Jim actually got, like how many had been harvested, how many were "lost" how many are ceramic etc. But just considering the size of this casino, there are probably more than any other chiproom sale in recent memory.More like the first 2 minutes of the sale if recent sales are any indication...
For the big, high denom chips, yes, I expect they will. They should. For the cash chips plebs like me use? No, if anything, I bet they go down.I wonder if these sales prices are going to start increasing? We have many members here with big pockets. And at least a couple are starting to take notice when these types of sales from casinos are available.
I would guess that if we don't have at least one member or two submitting bids against Jim today, that we will by the next one or two. And there is what I would imagine good money to be made off of this. I don't have the first clue as to the process, if it's a one time blind bid biggest takes it down, perhaps nothing changes. If it's anything related to auction where buyers can see the opposing side, I'm guessing we might start to see higher purchase prices on their end, and of course then on ours.
I can't even begin to guess how it works and how hard it is to get into that room to make an offer. No I mean for all of the chips moving forward.
I was saying I think other people will start trying to encroach in the area of buying all the chips from closing casinos, where legal. Thus raising the price either Jim or they end up paying. Heck, I'm super interested just to see who else is out there outside of PCF and Poker Clubs that are bidding on these.
Did you just quote yourself? Also seems strange we don't see more chippers pooling their money to take down things like this. The aransas was a tiny, tiny example of this. Seems strange to me that the same isn't done for these types of things, but perhaps we should count our lucky stars that others either don't have the same connections or ability to figure out how.I wonder if these sales prices are going to start increasing? Don't let them get into your head. Just show up, be logged into PayPal, and buy when it comes open. You'll be fine.Hmm... all these stories of people missing out gots me worried y'all. I'm new here so go easy.
This is a great idea. 95% of us agree with you. Unfortunately, there's the 5% that don't...Maybe everyone can just play the game fair so that everyone has a chance at getting what they are after.
I agree. I would love to just click a button and get a cash set pre-assembled. But then it would either probably have not enough of one denom bc everyone's games are different. UGH, so difficult. The sale model itself sets up this cycle. In order to get the higher denomination chips (which are the only ones I'd be interested in for a hi roller tourney set) you often have to buy 2000 chips, which would inevitably leave me with like 1500 chips that I had no use for, so of course they're going to get sold off, probably at a loss unless there are some desirable chips in there to help offset that loss and prevent the hi denoms from costing 1.5-2x what sale price was.
This isn't flipping though. The people that buy sets including the rarer/more valuable (usually hi denom or frac) chips with the sole purpose of selling those limited ones at a profit to make their cash sets cheaper or free I would consider flipping. Or people buying chips without the intent to ever keep any of them and solely to make a profit on a limited commodity.
Unfortunately there aren't many ways around this. I did really appreciate the older pre-packaged cash and tournament set breakdowns Jim used to sell though. If one's goal was a playable cash or tourney set they could purchase one without having to navigate the insanity of needed denoms selling out and then having to pay a premium as the chips reemerged on the secondary market. I'm hoping Jim offers set breakdowns for this sale, but we'll see.

Me too!Great question! All I want is a 600 chip low-stakes cash set (.25/.50)
No I was dumb and posting thoughts on the whole process.Jeff did you make a booboo and leave periods here instead?
The only reason this is hard, is because the smart flippers don't do it in the classifieds...they do it through PMI thought you had a blacklist that you wouldn’t sell to after flipping?
"Hey, I saw you were looking for Lady Luck $500's I have this rack of them that I bought that I just so happen to not need...and oh BTW I want 3 times Jim's price for it, strange coincidence eh?"And probably eBay

Lol really?"Hey, I saw you were looking for Lady Luck $500's I have this rack of them that I bought that I just so happen to not need...and oh BTW I want 3 times Jim's price for it, strange coincidence eh?"
Too hard to control. Some people buy extra chips to get the ones they want and they should be able to sell them. I wish I could, but when you get 100+ orders in an hour, it's hard enough just to go through them to make sure people adhere to the percentages.I thought you had a blacklist that you wouldn’t sell to after flipping?
All good, Jim. You do you. We'll be here when the doors open.I appreciate your business and the suggestions, but in the end I have to do what's best for my business model and you the customer.
Thanks for all that you do Jim!We run sales our best to make sure everyone has a chance to get a great set of chips at fair prices. Unfortunately, we have no control over the flippers. I could raise the prices to market value to eliminate flipping, but I want everyone to try and get a great set for a great price. I use percentages to eliminate people from purchasing only the rarer denominations and preventing other people from completing their set. Doing sets is difficult because everyone has different needs. I know the system isn't perfect, but it works. After all, I am not just a vendor, I am an enthusiast. I try and treat you guys the way I would want to be treated. I appreciate your business and the suggestions, but in the end I have to do what's best for my business model and you the customer. In a perfect world, I would eliminate flippers, but they are an unfortunate fact of life.
Jim
I can fap to that.Primary vs Secondary choices, what do you guys think ?
100% no joking. Obviously my wording is sarcastic but that was the offer. Then when I turned it down, someone with deeper pockets or more sweaty desperation bought them. Then the rest of the racks bought for percentage requirements hit the classifieds for cost. It happens with every TCR sale.Lol really?
Have you ever thought of limiting the purchase of chips that are in lower quantity to a total number instead of percentage based? Like say you can only buy 1 rack of quarters, 25k, etc.Too hard to control. Some people buy extra chips to get the ones they want and they should be able to sell them. I wish I could, but when you get 100+ orders in an hour, it's hard enough just to go through them to make sure people adhere to the percentages.

In reality it should be our job as a community to root out the flippers and not feed their behavior. It shouldn't be the vendors responsibility. If people don't buy their shit then when they can't sell them for 2-3 times what they paid 2 weeks after at TCR sale they'll start lowering prices and be less encouraged to do it the next time.
