SAVE YOUR MONEY (3 Viewers)

The proper way to fix it, and really ONLY way is for him to ask the proper value for his chips.

Percentages and limits do the function a tiny, but even with that happening people want more change. He does that, which requires more time and effort, for the exact same value he's receiving already. Again, how hard do you want to make this job for the vendor....

It's like people want to pay 40% more to Jim so that damn unknown flipper can't profit. We can't have it both ways of great pricing plus optimal distribution to help buyers... and as Jim said.... He knows where his position is here. He knows he could charge more, but he likes to give people the best honest price.

I gotta unwatch this thread....

To be perfectly honest. I'd rather put 40% more in Jim's pocket than give a flipper a dime. Jim does the work and some D bag makes money off his back because he's trying to give a deal to the community. I don't like people who take advantage of others. That includes taking advantage of a vendor as well.

So would I, but that's not our decision. It's Jim's.... And thru 400 billion sales, everyone tells him how to "help" .. When, every time he makes it clear... He gets it and he's happy to help provide....

I mean, unless Jim needs one of us to become his power of attorney and make choices for him, I trust in his decisions....

Then, I call attorney dibs....

I love these sales - and would love them even more if Jim went with pre-set sets of chips like he did on the final sale of the Jack chips.

Calculating percentages and hitting multiple buttons make it tough on everyone; do complete breakdown sets - for example...

Primary and Secondary cash sets for low stakes home games - x100 fracs / x200 $1s / x300 $5s / x80 $25s / x20 $100s or similar.

Mid/high stakes home game cash set x200 $1s / x400 $5s / x300 $25s / x100 $100s

And a "tournament breakdown" version as well. x200 $25s / x300 $100s / x180 $500x / x200 $1000s / x120 5Ks

or similar to any of these breakdowns. Then limit it to one breakdown per customer - or you could increase that limit to 2 per customer, whatever is deemed most doable and fair.

Just my 2 cents - I do love that these chips will be available, however it is done in the end, just grateful to have the chance!

We run sales our best to make sure everyone has a chance to get a great set of chips at fair prices. Unfortunately, we have no control over the flippers. I could raise the prices to market value to eliminate flipping, but I want everyone to try and get a great set for a great price. I use percentages to eliminate people from purchasing only the rarer denominations and preventing other people from completing their set. Doing sets is difficult because everyone has different needs. I know the system isn't perfect, but it works. After all, I am not just a vendor, I am an enthusiast. I try and treat you guys the way I would want to be treated. I appreciate your business and the suggestions, but in the end I have to do what's best for my business model and you the customer. In a perfect world, I would eliminate flippers, but they are an unfortunate fact of life.

I wish I could, but when you get 100+ orders in an hour, it's hard enough just to go through them to make sure people adhere to the percentages.
That's the kind of thing software can solve. If you can share several examples of the orders (I assume emails?) I could probably whip something up fairly quickly. PM me if you have interest in this automation.

It's all guesswork. Nobody knows for sure how many fracs Jim actually got, like how many had been harvested, how many were "lost" how many are ceramic etc. But just considering the size of this casino, there are probably more than any other chiproom sale in recent memory.
I know Lady Luck is a bad example, because with their 312 spot patterns they were kind of a boring release. But I know for sure that those fracs lasted the whole first hour. And yeah those were fifty centers, which are less popular than quarters. But still, they didn't sell out until the limits were lifted.
So yeah, it's all guesswork, but I'm betting the fracs last longer than 2 minutes.

In total chip count maybe yes...but only counting clay...PCA & Empress would rival those numbers (imho)

Besides Jim putting some limitations on tournament sets has there ever been limits on how many of the cash game chips can be purchased? I know that there are almost always percentages but have there ever been a 1,500 or 2,000 chip limit?
And @TheChipRoom do you have an estimate on how many chips there are in total? I know someone calculated approximately 720,000.

Lady Luck and Isle both had 2000 chip limits for the first hour iirc

Someone should keep tracking of the number of repeated TCR sale questions from sale to sale and separately the number of questions that would clearly be answered when Jim posts the sale details. I’m not knocking the people asking I just would love to see the numbers behind it :D

Where is the fun in that?

After the limit has been lifted (typically 1hr correct?) if what I’m after isn’t there, it wasn’t meant to be... perhaps they show up in classifieds? Perhaps not. But the hunt will be on

Jim does not reveal chip counts until after the sale is over. He's done that since, well, forever.

I keep staring at that primary frac. I just want a rack or two. That’s all. Be kind to the newbies. Haha.
