Just scooped a monster. Picked up KK and raise to $35, get a caller and then a semi drunk aggo player makes it $275. I elect to take the higher variance route and call due to the dynamics this player and I have. The other player folds.

~$600 Flop comes a beautiful K94r. He leads for $500. I call.

$1600 Turn 4. He leads for $800. I call.

$3.2k River is a 3 and he jams for 2.5k. Snap call. End result.

This hand inspires me to post my hand from last weekend at Aria 5/10/20.

:qc::9c: in SB. Raised to $60. I call. Heads up. I have about 7k. V has around 3k and thinks he has been running bad against me.

Flop :8s::ts::jh:

I lead for $120.

V raises to $360.

I reraise to $1000.

V goes all in. I snap. We run it twice. 4 red cards and both boards pair :eek:

V turns over :as::9s:

Almost kept the sharp flag as a souvenir. The Peppermint Hippo was happy I didn’t.

Went on a Carnival cruise to Mexico. The Poker table is electronic (which I didn't like). So had to play some blackjack to checkout the chips. Paulson giant inlay. There's what appears to be an older Fun Ships $5 with shaped inlay. Those were nice. All the $1's were the same.

Went on a cab tour in Mazatlan. Stopped at two casinos to try and harvest. Both were closed, opening when I had to be back on the boat, wouldn't sell me chips.

Jeez some peeps are playing some serious stakes on here. Just my little run good at Encore. In for $300 currently at about $1200. Missed an opportunity at winning an $1100 pot. Folded K/10 spades on a K/7/9 all club board. Went running 10s lol. The two guys at showdown had flushes :vomit:. Flop action was scary and board was too wet for me to feel good about continuing.

Last week I spent a weekend in Scotland (Edinburgh and Glasgow). Visited a few local casinos: the best I saw was Alea in Glasgow, a new-ish casino in the middle of a large mall.
They have a nice poker room (they say it's "the largest" in Scotland), a wonderful location along Clyde's waterfront.
Chips, anyway, are ugly... it's usual british crap as I yet saw in London :cry:

I played blackjack and roulette for 30min, pocketed £30 profit plus a few souvenir chips.

Casino has two floor: ground flor with slots and poker room, upstairs table games, roulettes and other slots.
I visited the casino in sunday afternoon, in the middle of a tourney

Ugly plastic chips... they follow british colour scheme: red £5, black £25, pink £100
£1 chip came in two versions, the faded one it's the older. The green chip it's from roulette.
This is what I cashed out

Yeah that’s the best poker room we’ve got. The chips are utter shite but like that in all casinos here.

Hope you enjoyed your trip and the weather held up.

Let me introduce you guys to Alberta poker. 1-3nlhe game. Max buyin $1k. This guy is immediately to my left, and has been raising preflop to $100 minimum every single hand. I don't mean every hand he chooses to enter the pot. I mean he has a 100%vpip, 100% preflop raise, 20bb minimum raise. This pic was after playing him for 9-10 hours:

Tell me you work on an oil rig without saying it directly!

I wouldn't be trying to stack this guy, but buying in short and winning a few all-ins against him is about as EV as you can get in all of NLHE.

Screw that! I was topping up to max at every opportunity. Limp for 5, fold. Limp for 5, fold. Over and over, so that when I got a premium I could limp/jam over all the idiots just calling his preflop raises. He'd get 4-5 callers per hand and he'd shove most flops and take it down. People had no idea how to adjust.

And how much did the rest of the table take off him?

He left busto within 2 hrs of this pic. I was only +$1k at the end despite unquestionably having the best seat on earth at that moment.

He lost 4,000 BBs in 2 hours?! I mean, after you lose a third or a quarter of that stack, you'd think to either change your game plan or call it a day. That's just batty.
