You're not alone. One could buy enough Shuffletechs for 7-10 tables for the price of a single used DeckMate.

Replacement power supplies are a cheap grab off eBay. They're nothing special. 6-7 bucks from most US sellers. (don't buy one out of China unless you want to wait 3 months to get it.)

6v DC - 1500mA (1.5A) minimum output w/female coaxial "barrel" connector (center positive). 5.5mmOD / 2.1mm ID (known as "Type M")

Certainly not a bad idea. Just what I need, another project, as if I don't have enough to do. :D

Although, ripping a 100 shuffles in a row through one isn't something I'd suggest doing just because you might have some time to kill.

I think I've mentioned this before, but this isn't a ShuffleMaster which is likely engineered for a 100% duty cycle. It uses plastic in places where a higher quality machine would use aluminum or some other more substantial material, & the shuffling process does generate a semi-decent amount of heat out of the motors.

Which, is understandable. If you wanted to make it that stout with different materials, higher duty cycle motors, etc. you'd easily double the price at minimum.

In normal use this thing runs for under a minute & then likely sits for at least a couple minutes while you play out a hand, allowing a cool-down period.

I noticed this effect when I first got mine & probably ran a good 2 or 3 dozen 7 riffle cycles all right back to back trying a few different decks. I have a feeling that as it tends toward heat-soaking jams could become artificially more frequent, which would mean any kind of real meaningful data collection could take a very long time to generate. Let me give that all some thought & see what I can figure out.

I've also got 2 guitar amps in for modifications. Truck needs a new window regulator. Daughter-in-law's ATV needs a top end overhaul on the engine. And, the best news, we can restart the charity poker tourneys at our Legion Hall next month, so I need to get the licencing paperwork mailed out & that gear all sorted too.

If idle hands are the Devil's Playground, the SOB hates me. :D

I was poking around Shuffletech's website and found this:

Stand-by Mode. The presentation tray does not have to be in the shuffler for it to shuffle a second deck. The unit will complete the shuffle and then pause until the tray is returned. The shuffled deck will then be ready in less than 3 seconds once tray is inserted. This means you can actually use three decks to play the game (self-standing model only): one deck in play, another one in the presentation tray ready for the next game, and a third deck shuffling. This is a great feature for fast paced games such as heads-up or when an individual misdeals.

So, if you don't have this flush mounted you can really speed up your game.

Hmm.... this sounds like a good experiment. So let me see if I understand.... Deck 1 - In play.... Deck 2 - In tray (already shuffled) ready to be dealt... Deck 3 - In shuffler waiting for tray to be returned...

Am I getting this right?

Pretty much - don't see how much this could speed things up though (unless you are heads-up). My machine finishes shuffling one deck way before we are ready for it as is.

Exactly. I think this will speed things up for heads up or short handed play.

You can buy them new for around £700 from their Euro HQ in Hungry. So got this for less than half price. Bargain... assuming it works.

What do you have and what mods will you be doing ?
My pride & joy amps are a gen 1 (red) Brunetti 059 with OEM cab (this one just got new tubes) and my custom shop Marshall C5 Greta (no mods) :)

Don’t know Brunetti. Will check them out. The Marshall is stunning. I’ve got a Blackstar Artisan 15w and it’s LOUD.
Got a teeny weeny Boss Katana for practising at home.

Brunetti is awsome...small factory in Modena Italy, all hand crafted and build by order (some cabs at least)

That’s awesome. I’ll keep an eye out for them in the guitar shops over here.
I bought my Blackstar because it was hand built. Think they switched to machine built soon after.

The graphic on that cab grille is awesome.

That post you quoted was from back in July, that's too much crap ago to remember exactly. :D

One of those was an old 1980s Peavey Butcher (The original "Mississippi Marshall") Swapped from 6L6s to EL34s, also did a mod that lets you swap between series v1 & v2 preamp tubes to parallel (AKA: the 2 channel JCM800 mod). Basically lets you swap between the high gain JCM800 topography to a lower gain "Jumpered Plexi" sound.
 
Sorry I haven't really been on in months, just too busy with all that has been going on. For me my shuffle techs have been relegated to backup duty in the closet. They haven't been used for awhile now. Ever since I moved over to a professional shuffler I haven't looked back. I do still think that the shuffle techs did a fair job. It's just that the company seems to be kind of a mess and maybe support was kind of hit and miss. I do think some of that has to do with that lawsuit obviously. I did see @davethesave 's post on the table fix, hope that is going well.

What do you mean by a professional shuffler? As in you hire a dealer or there’s some other piece of equipment I need to buy?
