So I bought a 3d printer (16 Viewers)

Having seen a great item made with one and now reading this thread I started considering one. I have been looking and watching some of the videos. What is the best one to start with that is the most, new user friendly. Are the upgrades that you get with the X1c worth it over what you get with the P1s? Any other newer models from other companies better to get?

Looking at taking the plunge and thought I would learn from you guys.
Still looking for some input here!

@Tommy might be able to speak about the X1. I have a p1s with one ams (thinking about a second) and absolutely love it. I’ve had a few frustrating prints but in the end I figure it out and prints are beautiful. I’ve used every type of filament Amazon sells almost and they all print well. Mine has run 10-12hrs a day since June on average and it just works. I hope this helps you a bit. My printing knowledge is pretty limited but little by little. lol

(treating this again as the unofficial general 3D printer thread - assuming that's cool :D )

One thing about having a 3D printer is that it's just there to be used and I don't need much of an excuse to do something with it. Latest is a napkin holder for my snacks table. Can't have those napkins just lying around on the table, this is a classy joint! :)

No worries. Everyone post what your making and what your using to make it. I love seeing it all.

My newest hurdle I’ve jumped is printing 5 color prints with my 4 color Ams. It’s a bit of a pain but works till I can justify buying another Ams.

We've printed a few things on our Creality CR-10 S Pro v2. The results are alright, but I'm looking to upgrade to the K1 Max. We print really big stuff so looking to get a relatively large print size without getting into the $10k+ price point.

The printers that do multiple filaments look cool. Love seeing the multicolored prints.

So what are your go-to filaments?

I want to build up stock on a good filament with several colors. I currently have several colors of PLA but I was wondering about getting some PETG HF in varying colors as well. Thoughts?

I use NuMakers PLA+
Never an issue and probably close to 150 rolls through my X1 now. I buy 10+ at a time for the bulk discount.

WOW...those are AWESOME!! Now I need to take the plunge!! (:
Yes you do. It will bite you like the chip bug! I have an x1 carbon and have been printing daily. I now have close to 20 different filaments and the printer is currently printing a bust of my grandson. Long print with a bunch of pla support but should be great.
