Sometimes when I watch poker I feel like I don't understand poker (2 Viewers)

There are two sorts of Texan players in my experience. Passive calling station donkeys and aggro donkeys.

Dildo plays like the players at my local card rooms. Its tilting as hell when you raise to $50 preflop in 1/2 with aces and get called by K5o and they spike a set on you. Or decide to stay in the hand hoping to get runner runner flushes and keep hitting them.

Alot of guys I play with will keep every ace they get dealt, I'll have AKs, and the ace will come. Their 7 hits on the turn and I have no idea they spiked 2 pair. Or they will call monster raises/bets hoping to hit a 2-4 outer and spike it. Its frustrating, and I'm down my last few sessions because of it, but they feed you alot in the long run.

Calls $30 freflop with 88
Makes a boat
"I have a boat"

Dude silently turns over 10 3 offsuit for quads he made on the river.

Then, I have AQs, have top pair on a dry board and it runs dry the rest of the way to the river.
"I have AQ"

"I have 2 pair"
---turns over Q4o in the SB---

Q4 takes it. I hate this game lmao

I’m all for the jackass calling stations - it sucks when they hit, but you have to keep reminding yourself that those are the people you want in the game.
People like Bildo are harder to deal with because they’re raising with crap. It’s a legitimate style of play I guess. I mean, we’ll never know how much money Rick Salomon has made playing like that. But you have to have a bunch of bullets to play a guy like that.

Yeah, this is standard for a lot of 1/2 games.

I played locally this past weekend and had a horrible run with KK being 0 for 3 on the session:
#1 - raised, called multiple ways, and lost a good pot to 67o on a 345r flop.
#2 - 3-bet, called by Q3s who flopped a three and turned a Q, got three streets from me.
#3 - raised pre and got multiple callers as usual, A-high flop checked to me and I cbet small, called by 77 who turned a set and led out. Luckily the ace and the fact that the guy was fairly nitty scared me, so I got out cheaply, unlike the other two.

In spite of all that, I ended up +100 on a swingy, mediocre session. When the cards go my way a bit more, I can print money against these guys.

I have no words - lol.

Always makes me think they read the first chapter of power poker - and then just stopped  :ROFLMAO:

Gamblers like Bildo are great to have at the table. Judging from the few hands of the videos he seems like a terrible player.

1st hand of the 2nd vid. He calls a $1.2k 3bet from BB with J7o with the original raiser behind. Original bettor 4bets to $6.7k and he calls. Then he bluffs his stack on the river. His initial bad decision compounds as the hand progresses and he makes worse and worse decisions.

These kind of players eventually go broke or quit. You want them at the table. Just need to be prepared with several buyins each session and be mentally prepared for some swings. But if you're lucky enough to play against them consistently you're going to win big.

Any legal scholars able to weigh in on whether the players who Bildo lost to are potentially on the hook for forfeiting their winnings to Uncle Sam?

That 148k vid is just sick. Makes me glad I stick to 5/10 so beats like that don’t keep me up at night.

This would be equivalent to clawing back money paid for goods and services. ONLY way this could be a thing is if he was intentionally dumping as a money laundering-type deal (other people would have to be in on it).

Yep, I've experienced that first hand a bazillion times at 1/2NL. Get it in, get called by a donk with a three outer who spikes it and racks up a few hands later.

In other news, I hate poker.
A couple bazillion here. Moved up to the 2-5.
