I'm going to be working with @Mushmanchuman . Well, I'm going to be helping him run game nights once or twice a month at a senior assisted living home. I thought it would be fun to take some swag for prizes, giveaways, ect....

If you have anything please post, or PM one of us.

@Mushmanchuman any ideas on what time of swag they would like?

If you guys get a good list of things to donate, I'm in. Either in items or a monetary donation to help.

I don’t have a ton of experience with people in assisted living, but my initial thought is that if you’re living in a single room, you probably don’t need a lot of junk cluttering it up.
Is something like gift cards / gift certificates a possibility?

I been throwing in single chips for the Hold em bomb pots sometimes (I am easing them in guys)

I would think that neat, lil prizes are the coolest. Knickknacks or whatever. Poker related if possible but idk really. Just swag that either an old dude or old lady would like. Or gift cards… idk really…lol

I don't have any idea either. Only thing I could really think of is coffee cups. Hence one of the reasons for this thread.

Thanks @toothpic

@Mushmanchuman Do you have a contact person at the home? Maybe one of us should reach out to her? I don't mind doing it if you have an email address/phone number.

Scratch offs and Sodoku puzzle books! Y'all might laugh... but that's what they want! These are gambling folks, pot sweateners for a $2 scratcher and they are all going to get itchy to win!

Oh and Bingo dobbers, they love fancy bingo bling bling!

Yes whilst telling a joke, again I did work in a few retirement homes when I was young. They are not huge on things that sit on the shelf and take up space.

Snacks, candy, lottery tickets. When we did this a few years ago, I got some old silver dollars at the bank and gave a few away at each event. (Eisenhower coins still trade at face, so $1 @). We'd put one joker in the blackjack shoe. If you were dealt the joker, you got a silver dollar.

Oh and I am absolutely "in" to contribute. Let me know who is collecting funds.

@louBdub if you want side action on the seniors game you gotta give up a $20 spot here first! Sorry brother but those are the rules! I still got Pappy Tom even though he took a beating last game!! Come on PAPPY

I'm hoping Pappy has a 50% or greater VPIP! It's ok if we get it in bad and catch up!! Haha

I had a friend who was recreation director in an "assited living" facility & I participated in quite a few of the holiday parties. You wouldn't believe the excitement in there faces when we'd party, play games & dancing was one of their favorites, feels good man!

I'll donate a few scratch offs. Obviously Missouri scratchers wouldn't be any good but I can send you $ to buy local scratchers.

If @Mushmanchuman has a contact person at the home I think I (or him) should talk to them first. Then I will be reaching out to the parties that are interested in helping out. Thank you PCF!

Perfect suggestions, Ben.
Definitely scratch tickets. And Crossword puzzles or word searches are great too.

A little bag of poker themed candy maybe?

My mom loves adult coloring books. Might be an option too.

Count me in for donation for gift cards/scratchers.

This is great. You guys kick ass.
