Tales from the Hitching Post (5 Viewers)

OMG I have a history of this from when I was a juvenile!

Hmmmmmmm

I also have a few indiscretions in my younger years that led to signs coming home with me... I like to think of myself as at least a tiny bit of an improved version of my younger self, but then I have second thoughts when I think about how I wouldn't change a damn thing about a lot of the stuff I did. :D Now I'm going to go out and admire my "Stevens Pass" sign in my garage, and also after seeing the NWA movie the other day I am going to have to fight the urge to charge up sawz all and jump on I-5 for a few miles south until I come to exit #187!! ;)

While at Northern Arizona University in the 80s, several students had already taken a sign from Beaver St. Never had one myself but there are many Hitching Post Rd. signs in Tucson.

Good lord. It seems like every town has a Hitching Post Ln

Not here. But there is one in Nashville. I'm not going for it now; at this point they're going to be watching and I'll be the guy getting nailed as the perpetrator of the nationwide "Hitching Post Caper." Also, I'm a huge wuss when it comes to any actual illegal activities.

My favorite is in a nearby rural county they have Ouchonder (pronounced out-yonder) Rd.

Also, you're just plain huge, so maybe it's a good thing you don't rely on sneaking around and being hidden.

Seriously, the first time I saw the picture of you and the gnu guy I was awestruck. Such a cool picture, I looked around the puc for a second to make sure it wasn't an optical illusion or some sort of trick.

Yep, I'm fooked if they ever put me in a lineup.

had to look for mine as well. not in the most scenic area of Jersey and maybe grazed by a bullet or two, but it seems almost fitting actually...

So a quick story. My main table chairs were great looking but of cheap construction. I got them from Overstock.com and swear that one broke every other month. (2 during the Shootout)

Enough was enough so I decided I needed to get some chairs that would last. Asthetic was important as well. I decided to search restaurant supply stores as I wanted some durability. I ended up buying from a place that only sells business to business. I had given them my name but they told me they needed to know the business name they were shipping to so without missing a beat I told them The Hitching Post. The lady's response was "Oh I thought you were in California." (There is a Hitching Post Restaurant in California. A scene from the movie Sideways is set inside it.)

Long story short the chairs arrived today on an 18 wheeler. The deliverer looks bewildered as he expected a business and a loading dock. I tell him just hand them to me and you're good. So here are the new seats at the main table.

Nice. I'm sure he didn't expect a loading dock though. It's not like that's a common feature of your local Applebee's.

Lol no idea. He SAID he expected one. Also was looking around at houses like he had landed on Mars.

Are you on a dead end street? I'd be worried about turning the damn rig around, or backing it up 1000 ft.

He got out somehow. I'm on a cul de sac. Not sure if he went to the end and turned. I've seen giant moving trucks get in and out before. Can't be fun but I know it's possible
