I have loved this knife for over 15 years.
I used to work nightlife bars in Philadelphia, and this was always with me.
Only snapped it out once in a potential defensive situation. I was walking through a parking garage at 3:30 AM.
Two 'urban youth's came out of a corner and started asking if I could help them out (too aggressive for my liking).
They continued to follow me when I would not engage with them or stop walking towards my shitty car.
Once I was closer to my vehicle, I made a show of loudly snapping the blade out of the Spyderco Matriarch.
Only then did I make direct eye contact and said something goofy seemed appropriate at the time.
They played the whole situation off like they were joking and walked away.
Honestly, they probably saw my ghetto sled (car) and figured I only had $5 to my name.
funny how times change as you get older, get married, and have kids.
I used to care and carry this knife like a samurai nd his sword.
Now days the only action this baby sees are
Amazon and Zappos boxes.
