You get 10 gold for joining and 1 gold coin every 24 hours. I can host one three-hour game per week for free. With six other members doing the same, that's the whole week. How is that not cost-effective?

(Although I do appreciate @MatB's longer games, which cost more than 6 gold, and I don't have a problem with him raking a small amount from weekly payouts to pay for the games.)

Oh no it’s great for people hosting, I appreciate that! Maybe it’s a EU thing, I’ve never gotten a gold per day or anything, but that’s awesome if you can host for free.

That’s also not buying gold, and its not worth it for me to spend to host 3 hour or one night games. At 9 gold an hour, it’d $10+ a dayfor me to host. Was just saying if you’re gonna host on the reg, it’s only worth buying big gold packages.

Daily morning update #2, Life as a Fish in the Fish Pond

Jump in app, around 7 pmish. Play well, somehow get away from bad calls, bad cards, but at least end +.

Shower and open new table. Play okay, it’s kinda chaotic. Quads over quads kinda table. Kudos to those repeatedly on the wrong end hanging tough. @detroitdad walks in, we get in about $100ish each on the turn, he’s quartered, turns one of the two cards that saves his bacon and fries mine. Tilt ensues, 6 hours later I’m out 3 buyins. Every night seems some people are drinking, I’m not sure they have any fooking clue what game we’re playing. Sad to not get it in vs them.

Bed at 3:30 am. Wake up at 6:30. Different table still going. Jump in. Win 6 buy ins by breakfast. Then learn that apparently it’s high only and I had no clue what game we were playing.

Tl;Dr
Put in another ten hours of online table time. Fuck Bill.

edit: realize some people are playing in here that don’t frequent PCF at all and may just see this thread. I love Bill. Hell the man threw me $25 for hosting every night cause that’s who he is. But still, fuck em.

I’ve suspended games temporarily for the morning.
I’ll turn back hosting ability in a little bit.

Because of yesterday’s games and the deep stacks and my risk in basically holding the credit lines. I’ve decided to add a few new rules.


1) I will now be checking daily people’s win/ losses and if you are at -300 or more. I will require you to send payment. Rather than wait for Monday to settle up.

2) All payouts are still on Monday. If you went negative and prepaid and then made a huge comeback. You’ll have to wait till Monday for the payout.

3) All hosted games are to be. .10/.20 MAX with a cap of $100 buyin.

4) we can still host a larger deep stack game but that will need my approval.

But really people buying this 3 hour special every day isn’t cost effective. If anyone just wants to grab the $100 worth of coins that plays everyday, I’ll throw them $20. Or I can get it if four people want to throw me $20. I seem to lose, err, play every day.

If not I’ll just keep hosting, but probably bad form to make your biggest fish pay to play

if you have 7 players you can literally have everyone host 1 3 hour game per week on a rotating basis. You collect the free gold everyday and you could rotate at no cost.

It has helped to have additional hosts with more gold than a 3 hour run (I think my table alone ran about 7-8 hours yesterday). Plus a lot of people don’t like seeing a full table break, pick up winnings/losses, and move everyone elsewhere after 3 hours.
