short update:
we played with the cards short before X-Mas under tough conditions...
The cards had to make it through a long evening for approx. 10 hours of play with '
Feuerzangenbowle', pizza, beer, cocktails, crisps etc..
Bad news for the brain cells, good news for the cards.
PROS:
+ The cards survived this evening against spilled drinks, greasy fingers, thousand times of shuffling and bending without any noticeable impact.
+ They are still in a very good shape. Just like out of the box
+ The cards still not bend up and shuffle very well
+ the cards slide very nicely (played on a table with an older SSC felt)
+ There are no issues of color fading etc. up to now
CONS:
- The index letters are a bit to narrow from my opinion (compared to my fournier cards)
- the spades and clubs are hard to differentiate during play, you have to look twice / carefully
- the bright red is ok but i prefer the darker security red
- the cards are a bit smoother than Fourniers and tend to float a bit, similar to Copacs I would say
- Again I have to spend money for my poker set...
Conclusion:
The quality of the cards is very good (based on my limited experiences with cards (Fournier/KEM Acetate/Copac).
I am already planning my Bel Air playing cards with individual faces to improve on the cons above.
1st DRAFT, more to follow:
Comparison Clubs / Spades
the symbols are difficult as soon as you sit far away from the board...
