Holy crap! This is why I do a double row of tape on that side of the box too. A little extra tape for a lot of piece of mind.
TAPE YOUR PACKAGES UP PROPERLY, PEOPLE!
Yep. Tape here on the cardboard that’s prefolded…Holy crap! This is why I do a double row of tape on that side of the box too. A little extra tape for a lot of piece of mind.
I won't bulletproof the contents like some people here, but chip boxes, some padding, and a literal shitload of tape on the outside to waterproof it and make sure it won't crack open has served me well. Tape is cheap. Cover the dang thing.People here pay a lot of money for chips and when I'm the seller, I feel like I have a very real obligation to do as much as possible on my end to mitigate the risk of damage during the transport process.
If chips somehow get damaged during transport, it sure as heck won't be due to shitty packaging.
Personally, I like to double tape all the edges and then cover all over with heavy duty packing tape. #ThisIsTheWay.

I hate to say it but the honest truth is that this does almost nothing (at least with USPS).And insure!
This! I recieved a box completely covered in tape. I was upset for about 5 seconds, thinking how hard it would be to open. Then realized how awesome it is that it's so hard to open.I won't bulletproof the contents like some people here, but chip boxes, some padding, and a literal shitload of tape on the outside to waterproof it and make sure it won't crack open has served me well. You're welcome, did the kitten arrive safely? This! I recieved a box completely covered in tape. I was upset for about 5 seconds, thinking how hard it would be to open. Then realized how awesome it is that it's so hard to open.
Was it always hairless? It's still awesome either way. HahaYou're welcome, did the kitten arrive safely?
My mother-in-law retired at the post office, and I’ve seen a few people here have successful clams. Must insure for me with packages over $4k.I hate to say it but the honest truth is that this does almost nothing (at least with USPS).
I understand the intent here and on paper, it makes a lot of sense. The reality is that large claims are a huge pain in the ass and the success rate is not in your favor. For the few people that have had success here there's probably 10x that who have had the opposite experience. I've had enough large claims (over $2k) that have been unsuccessful that I'll never insure anything with USPS again. If I make a purchase like that I'll probably insist that it's shipped UPS or Fedex and insure it through them.My mother-in-law retired at the post office, and I’ve seen a few people here have successful clams. I don’t believe UPS nor FEDEX offer insurance. I know FEDEX doesn’t.I understand the intent here and on paper, it makes a lot of sense. ...and then customs dude thinks "whatever, one single strip of tape will be enough!"TAPE YOUR PACKAGES UP PROPERLY, PEOPLE!
Based on my experience with packages that have been opened by U.S. Customs, this seems par for the course unfortunately....and then customs dude thinks "whatever, one single strip of tape will be enough!"

FedEx doesn't, that's correct, I guess I mean you can ship FedEx and purchase private insurance for their shipments.I don’t believe UPS nor FEDEX offer insurance. I know FEDEX doesn’t.
