Cigar table. I know you jellyView attachment 1384678
Question: how do folks here feel about smoking round their chips? I’ve gone back and forth on it a lot. We see that smoke residual clearly transfers from fingers to chips in casinos and can leave staining and a smell but how much is that going to happen if you have a smoking game once or twice a year? How about the felt?

So far I have felt that it wasn’t worth the potential damage to my chippies but I love a smoking game and there’s definitely some tension for my group when the smokers (myself included!) break the game for 90 min to have a stogie

As a former 20+ year smoker, I think it's stupid to smoke anything indoors. The damage and smell left behind is horrendous. If people at my game or at my house in general wanna smoke something, you go outside. You wanna vape something, feel free to vape wherever.

I had a separate old clay set for my cigar table and the smell when I sold them was significant enough that @GreekRedEye had to do a whole experiment lol. For me it was worth having an extra set so I didnt worry about transfer.

And what did you do for table? I was thinking about getting a separate topper but do I then want to bring that inside?

I played on a wooden porch table that I wasn't worried about ashing, and the cards/chips smelled pretty strongly. I don't smoke cigarrettes and we don't smoke daily so maybe we're more sensitive to the smell but it was significant enough that I didn't want those chips or cards touching my real table.

Just my own current situation, if I had a topper for cigars outside it could not come in the house, I'd store it in the shed or something, just too potent. I'd buy a cheap topper and just use it for that.

Looks like this was a gift set at Gulfport maybe? Idk if the chips are Paulson or not. View attachment 1385372
Ohhhhhh. That makes sense. There were a lot of those cards left after Katrina detroyed the place. I used to have a couple of decks myself, from eBay.
And no, they're not Paulsons. I'd guess ASM, the company that became CPC.

Snagged these old ASMs! Little bit of searching and these could originally be from Michael Noel, if someone knows him or has more info?
Amazing condition and awesome chips, but breakdown is goofy for sure. A handful of these are not in the chip guide, including the $25k.

Estate sale clearly from a chipper! The cases these came in had other chips in them at one point

@TheBigTater - I found your album searching, do you still have some of these?

I would love to build a tournament set since I have the high denoms, but there don't appear to be many/any of these floating around, in this version at least. Wanted/Trade ad likely coming soon!

This was used in the 2005 and 2006 WSOP with a strange one-off year in 2019 for one event:

This might have been the chip that got me started as a chipper. I remember the folks at ESPN used this chip spinning on edge on the felt in slow-motion as a bumper either going into or coming out of commercial during their broadcasts. Something about the colors and spots on this captivated me and led me down the rabbit hole that led me to CT and then to PCF.

Nearly 20,000 playable chips later and over 1000 collectible singles later, I finally get my hands on one of the chips that "started it all" for me.
I had a nice deep run in the 2019 event, I remember the chips well.

Looks like these were designed by Noelsarchs for HanahanStan from CT days.

Found something about these after some digging.

Yes, I've still got my tourney set. I've supplemented the original set with some white label Palmas 25's and some 44mm a-mold $2K's that someone had made. I also picked up a batch of black labels 100's 500's, & 1K's from @BamaT8ter which were "slightly" warped which I've slowly worked on flattening (ASM/CPC chips are a pain to flatten).

Amazing that you found some of the black label version. Michael came up with the black label versions of the Palmas back in the Chiptalk days and there aren't very many of them around, don't know how many he had made, another reason I took the warped ones on as a project. I haven't heard from Michael or seen him post for a long time now, last I heard he moved to England. A WTB ad might scare some up, I'm surprised every time some pop up.

You might also check with @David Spragg at CPC and see if he can still print the Palmas, not sure who actually owns the Palmas artwork rights.
