Ohhh... that's why. I thought I vaguely recognized those.

The "real" ones have to be impossible to find in qty.

I tried that once as I got b*tched at for using a screen shot I took from a text message from a friend. Dude argued with me and said he didn't care where it came from that I had to give courtesy to the guide, so I literally wrote image courtesy of my friends screen shot from the chip guide
Lmao

As the era of the WSOP at the Rio comes to an end, one more addition to my collection. I sure do love buy-it-now auctions that come up at oddball hours of the night.

Thanks to @Zmasterben 's timelines, I was able to confirm what my lousy memory thought, that these were only used in the Main for the first year. I'll be able to place this in proper chronological order with the rest of the "family"!

That's it, thank you both, could've sworn the blue spots on the Joilet's were a lighter blue, so that threw me off. Just making sure there's not another buy that's trying to sneak through here while another currently has the headlines :wtf:

Yeah, I’ve been looking for almost two years and never seen even one original $100 chip. The king baccarat made the most sense sticking with the 4d14 pattern even though it’s not as close to the original.

One more chip to add to my eventual label order hahaha

I've not posted any of my mail as I've received it... so here's everything I've gotten this year! I actually received around1/5th of this just in the past week – and I'm still surrounded by the packaging on the floor – so I think it at least partly qualifies as 'mail'.

3 nearly complete sets, 1 set put on hold, a handful of sample sets, a pinch of singles, and a few things I thought would work out but didn't (buying a rack counts as a "sample", right? ;) ). I'll post pictures of the sets once they're labeled. Everything under the Christmas elf will be returning to the wild, catch-and-release style, once I get around to posting sales threads. Cheers!

Not that anybody NEEDS $10 chips mixed in with $5s and $25s. And not that any chip that isn’t worth $100 should ever be black. But now I have a full barrel (mixed Sinatras, Pavarottis and Bennetts) to help round out the set - seems about right.

Still one of the stranger Paulson chips I've ever seen, definitely unique

Right? I’ve never actually cared for them. The THC alternate $1 with the giant inlay at least has the textured inlay, so it feels very cool.
These - I guess it wouldn’t work well for the photo, if the inlay were textured. The signature on the other side is a cool idea, but it just looks weird with the off-center denom. And I get they were looking for a black-tie formal look on these, hence the all black chip, but no edge spots on a $10 chip is just an odd choice.
But to me, the strangest part of this four chip series is seen below - who the hell did Paul Anka piss off?
