Just to see if I should be on the lookout for an invoice....

Was shipping baked into the sample set pricing?

fwiw I was invoiced on the 19th. I don't know the total # of orders (I expect there are at least 100?) and of course there was the holiday and all that. Still, kinda odd there's so many left without invoices yet, no?

I got really excited when I received an email from Kim today. I thought it was the "Come pick 'em up!" that I've been waiting for.

Nope, just a copy of the invoice stamped "PAID." <sigh>

IIRC it was 114 different orders. That includes Josh/Apache, but does not count additional resellers that Joe may have contacted.

This surprises me, since it was posted that PGI would be closed 24-Dec through 2-Jan.

The group buy order thread generated 144 individual orders totaling 237,500 chips (approximately 175K tourney, 47K cash, 15K blanks). That total does not include the APC 50K order, add-on and late orders placed directly with PGI after the 10-Nov-2013 cut-off date, or additional chips ordered by PGI for resale by them and/or their re-sellers. Estimated total chips produced is in the 300K-350K range.

The single largest individual pre-order purchase was by lars for 11,400 chips.

The chips have landed! Joe said the chips would begin shipping tomorrow.

Thanks for the headsup Irish, I didn't get a notification from the other site, but here is what Joe wrote:

CHIPS ARE IN!!! Well- the cash and tournament chips- they came in today at 458pm!!
We have been on pins and needles ALL week as our broker advised us last week the load was damaged- we have yet to get pictures- and were REALLY WORRIED. They said it was alot of damage and we finally got delivery today-- the damage was to ONE carton of chips- maybe 150 chips were lost so needless to say we were quite relieved!!!

As far as addons go- we are going to do a custom dealer button- the price for original group buy groupies will be 3.00. Chip trays will be offered for 1.50 ea and if theres enough interest we may open up a custom playing card buy- but for now the dealer buttons will be available for 3.00 to original participants and 4.50 to anyone else wanting one. We mold our own trays and theyre not cheap to make so normal pricing is still 2.00 ea- but for original participants of this GB your cost will be 1.50 ea.

I know shipping would like ONLY to have dealer buttons added to the orders as it shouldnt effect shipping- if we add trays in our biller will quit- so trays will HAVE to be on a seperate ticket.

More to follow- we will begin shipping TOMORROW

Blanks wont be here for a few more weeks

We can do 44mm or 47mm chips if the need arises- something we can all discuss

That would have really sucked if the damage would have been substantial. Can't wait to receive these puppies.

Really. Only 150 chips damaged out of 300,000+ shipped. Too bad those 150 were gnu's ...... lololol

Sad face for the wait on blanks, i.e. mine. :(

Well I still need to wait for labels, then a wait for racks.

C'mon CPC - The horses are in the far turn, China Clay leads by a nose...

I'd bet on a horse named China Clay...

I'm guessing since I already received my invoice that I should see my order before the end of the month. I was originally guessing near the end of January or early February, so seems on-target.

Keeping my fingers crossed. 50 player tournament coming up. Would love to have these in play.

Dave and Ben, I agree there will be some extra costs involved. However, any commercial vendor will not be paying residential walk-in prices. Using just the "online pricing" (which I used when I was shipping out of my home as an eBay seller). I calculated a MFRB package from FL to WI and with $200 of added insurance, it came to $14.60. In the discussions about shipping, it was said that 875 chips could fit into a MFRB. Not sure if that's accurate, but lets say we're close. p5woody would have needed two of these (for a total of $29.20 in basic costs). The "packing materials" are being partially paid for by the buyers (with the $.50 boxes). So in p5woody's case, he was invoiced $46 on a $29.20 USPS bill, which is close to $17 extra. Not including the $.50 boxes. I'm looking at needing 3-4 MFRB's, so I'm looking at way more than $17 extra.

All that said, if my invoice for shipping was a mere $8 (or even $16) dollars more than expected, I wouldn't bat an eyelash. If it's $30-40 more ($70-80 total)? I'll still pay, but I might not be quite as happy about it.

Anyway, I'm excited about this chips. ;)

Yikes, I just got my invoice... $93

Shipping on my order (including 22 chip boxes) came to a flat $70. Not quite worth the drive to Daytona Beach, but close.....

Hey Schmendrick! Wanna pick up my chips when you go get yours, and send them to me?? srsly

FWIW, I only have 18 boxes worth of chips, and would have been happy with $70 shipping.

I wrote Kim at PGI and she responded promptly with the following: It still doesn't really answer my questions, since when I calculate 4x MFRB with $200 insurance and sig conf, it comes to $58.40, and then add on $9 for the boxes $67.40. take that away from $93 = $25 more.

Not at all happy about the $93, but can't see as I have a choice. I want chips, I pay shipping. I'll bite the bullet. :(

Hi Trihonda,
The reason our shipping prices are what they are is because we are bound by weight limits when using USPS. So we have to use more than one box for a lot of the orders. There is also a fee ( USPS fee ) for insurance and signature. I hope that this explains. Please feel free to email our shipping manager at palmshipping @aol.com. if you have any other questions.

Thank

Kim

Looks like CT is down with "An unexpected database error occurred. Please try again later."

Yea $96 shipping here. Two medium flat rate boxes to Canada is $40 each so it's not that bad but it seems it's more than than for some undisclosed reason.

Minus shipping it worked out to be still only $.28 per chip CDN. Fine with me.

Still $0.33 / chip including shipping is a pretty nice deal so I won't complain. Although I do want to buy more T5000s. Lookin' for a barrel. Fak $.82 on the dollar conversion rate. I knew I shoulda paid in full originally.

Don't forget tax and brokerage. I expect that I'll have to pay $40 when I pick up the package from CP.

Once I add in the shipping, tax and brokerage, it works out to about $0.45 CDN /chip overall, and that was with paying in full last October when the conversion rate through PP was $.89. Still cheaper than china clays in Canada (best price today for similar china clay chips purchased in Canada is $0.48 CDN /chip to my door), so I'm not complaining.
