Since people are mixing their sets. Would people use THCs with Tina’s. Was mentioned earlier in the thread that since mixing is already breaking some unwritten rules was wondering if some have mixed these types of chips? Or would this cause some damage to the chips?

Sorry, this is going to be a bit of a @Ben8257 book.

After my first couple of years here buying china clay and Tina ceramics sets, I finally bought a nice leaded THC casino set from Crystal Palace Gambling Hall. I thought "this is a nice forever set. Why would I ever need more leaded THC chips?" Before that, I had tried to put together a set of THC 312s, but I had a lot of trouble getting consistent stack heights, and I gave up on the project when the Crystal Palace chips came available to me. I've been felting them for almost two years, and have really enjoyed them.

However, there was one particular chip from that earlier 312 search that I liked, and hung on to. That was two racks of Silver Sevens $1 chips. These chips are not leaded, but they are close to leaded weight at about 9.6g each. One thing I didn't love about the Crystal Palace chips was that the $1s and the 25c chips were both solids. I'm a bit of a "spot whore." So one game I hosted, I played the SS $1s in place of the CPGH $1s. I had a couple chippers at the game, and they remarked about how well the SS $1s played with the leaded chips. Thanks go to @Rieguy and @harrysallout for your guidance during this project.

Next step in this journey was when two racks of Casablanca Aruba $5s showed up in the classifieds. The ones with the 3D14 spot pattern. I really liked them, and the price was right, so I jumped on them. In September, I took this set with me to DiD, and it seemed to go ever pretty well, using the quarters and $25s from CPGH, and the SS $1s and Casa $5s. And while I was there, I also bought a nice BoH from @RocAFella1 When I got back home, I started seriously thinking about finishing out this set as a mixed casino, THC, mostly leaded set.

Next thing to pop up was a well priced rack of B.J. Games $25 chips. My $1s are 312s, my $5s are 3D14 and the hundos I bought were 4D14. So I felt like these were a perfect progression with a 2V2W spot pattern. I bought them, and I love them. Also, they are another good match to the rest of the chips for stack height. BTW, all chips in this set are very good condition casino used. Except for the hundos I bought at DiD that are minty. These hundos are King Aruba chips, and next thing I know, I saw a wanted ad posted for King $100 chips. At the same time, I saw another hundo that I thought I wanted instead. After several back and forth conversations, I ended up trading the King chips for a barrel of Casino Aztar MO chips that had a bit of use on them. And I like the colors a little bit better. So win-win.

About this time, I entered into some conversations with a recently new PCF member, @Dunc He was looking for a new set, wanted a single casino set, and wanted one with quarters. Even thought I loved the Day Blue CPGH quarters, I knew I couldn't keep the whole set just for the quarters. And I already had my eye on another two racks of Casa $5s. I knew I would need some money for those $5s, and that finding a rack of real casino, THC, leaded quarters with inlays was not going to be easy or cheap either. So Blair and I entered into an agreement, and I shipped off the Crystal Palace chips to him. I was sad to see them go, but I know they will be used and loved.

After this, I was able to acquire two more racks of Casa $5s, and after discussing at length with @Gorbash regarding a nice rack of Outpost quarters, we finally made a deal. The quarters showed up on Wednesday, and last night I put the finally completed mixed casino set on the felt! Unfortunately, I am the world's worst at remembering to take pics during a game. Robert, I can usually count on you. Did you get any live action pics last night?

I didn't get any live pics, (updated - added a few live pics below) but today I set out the whole set for family photos. I'm really pleased with how well this set turned out, and with the consistency of the condition of the chips. I did go through all the $5s, and I sorted out one barrel that was a little rougher than the rest. I put those aside to make room for the BoH. So enough talk! On to some pr0n!

And I did get one pre-game shot of my $60 buy in stacks. @Gunnar Everyone loved your Berserk Island Dealer Button. Can't wait to see you in Iceland next summer!

Editing to add a few action shots from @Rieguy

And once we were down to just 4 players, and no one wanted to go home, we even got in about an hour of circus games! As usual, derailment was a big hit to a couple guys who hadn't played it before.

Wonderful set with spot-on weight/condition-matching, which is a top three criteria in putting together a mixed set that isn't mint. I frequently say nothing feels better in play than a nicely worn in chip set and these fit the bill to a T. Honestly, PCF needs to get back to putting together Paulson mixed sets; feels like there's been a lull lately.
(I also received a Ben book PM from Ben himself during our game Friday night, so I can confirm you wrote a Ben book.)

Pics in Official Home Game thread:
Yeah got a few, just took a while to recover between us breaking at 3am and 3 hours of sleep into racquetball, followed by a full day  .

Fun game as always, thanks!
