IF Glenn really is dead, can I please date Maggie? Please? Yes?

True but the infection in both 28 days and TWD i believe is a virus. Which puts us onto the discussion of how they are transmitted (and obviosly many liberties lacking realism are taken in that genre)
28d rage virus is transmitted by blood.

Can't remember if TWD is classified as a virus or not but the way it is transmitted is completely irrelevant. Everyone has it.

In 28 Weeks Later there's a lady who is immune but still a carrier and her husband kisses her and immediately gets infected from the saliva, so I guess bodily fluids for transmission.

Yes, in TWD everyone is already a carrier/infected. However there's something that transmits from zombie to human bite that doesn't transmit from human to human bite that prevents a wound from healing from the infection that is generated.

Whatever the case, I guess we just have to suspend disbelief and focus on the great makeup work done on the zombies rather than getting bogged down in mess of details

Oh, and when they started having that no-name dude that nobody knew or cared about start yapping about his wife and then try to give Michonne the letter it was just so obvious he was going to bite it (or get bit) that mission. Kinda reminded me of this scene:

lol-ing at all the heavy debate over what's realistic and what's not, when the topic being discussed is reanimated dead bodies walking around eating people. No jokes in this serious thread.

Also, Maggie is hot.

FWIW, I enjoy just watching the story and not second guessing why they did or did not do something.

There are 10,000 holes anyone can see in the story,

I have enjoyed this season so far, hope it continues to shock and entertain.

BiGGyT

sorry if I started a reality discussion, really was just trying to say I CAN suspend reality, accept the improbable, and just roll with the story, it is all fiction.

Or, it's magic

/end discussion

Also Glenn gave his riot suit to Eugene and it was taken at Terminus.

When the end becomes nigh, here's something to get. The Walking Dead meets World War Z meets Vikings, weapon-wise.
One of the best axes ever (made here in Finland), have been using one for my hikings and fishing trips for about 10 years.
Still sharp as hell. Just had to put some hockey stick tape onto the handle to get the grip hold.

An instant zombie kill :D

Personally, I'd go with a larger group, and a line of phalanx for zombie control. Complications arise when you add the difficulty of encountering hostile humans, which would require a completely different defensive style.

I like Glen, but if he is miraculously alive next week then man, that is some bad writing. I rewatched that scene to see if he had any possible escapes. 1) Why didn't they go up the fire escape? They had ample time. 2) The dumpster was of no use, seeing as there was only like six inches of clearance from the floor, and it was like all of 4 feet wide. 3) There was a manhole beneath them when they landed, although I doubt Glen would even remotely access it with all those zombies around him and all that weight on top of him. Some people are pointing to
Jesus
or even
Negan
as his savior, although the latter being introduced would be too early, storyline wise.

Here's a theory - everything after Nicholas zoned out on top of the dumpster happens in Glen's imagination, therefore he is still alive.

Softest main character death evah

When will they all learn Crazy Rick is crazy right every time?

Cool ax. The lack of axes and pole-arms is the most unrealistic part of the whole show.

Let me first say that I love the show and I am in the camp of "watching for entertainment only and not analyzing everything to death (no pun intended). But I do say this to myself a lot as I'm watching. Why doesn't everyone have some kind of weapon in every pocket of their pants/coat/whatever? I mean I go camping in NH and bring knives/flashlights/multi-tools/etc.

At least it's not as bad as those movies where someone takes out a bad guy who has a gun, then leaves the gun behind instead of arming themselves

Totally agree. How does everyone not carry a sword, either a real sword like Michon or a makeshift one as is easily the most effective weapon. Other than Daryl's crossbowworth unlimited supply of arrows.

At least they make an effort to show him occasionally retrieving one from the head of a walker. But yeah, they should at least give us a conversation scene where he's whittling....

They did in season 2 after the group finds out that Sophia is dead.

If the group is stationary, pole arms are great, but I suspect that with the amount of woodland travel they encounter, long weapons would be cumbersome.

Perhaps that's part of the fun of the show. Doomsday preppers discussing how to survive in a meltdown of civilization sounds like a bunch of conspiracy theory idiots. Discussing how to survive the zombie apocalypse is just fun, because nobody seriously is expecting a zombie apocalypse - it's just a fun mental exercise.

I always find myself wondering about this: at the very beginning of series 1 (maybe episode 2 or 3) the group get covered in entrails and used this as a disguise to get past a large herd of zombies. The idea being they would look/smell just like the zombies.

It worked fantastically until it rained, but until then, it absolutely worked.

So they have a guaranteed way of being invisible to zombies, and they NEVER bother doing it ever again (except whatsername, once).

Don't know about you, but I'd be rubbing Zombie juice all over myself night and day. I know how that sounds.

Kind of like what happened to Glen with the other dude being ripped apart on top of him... is that how he survives? If he survives.

Remember in the first season, Rick was trapped in the tank and Glen saved him. I think Glen will get under the dumpster and Rick or the new cast member 'Jesus' will save him.

Nothing yet on last Sunday's episode? I know it wasn't as action packed as some of the more recent ones, but I thought it was an outstanding, well-written and well-acted episode. John Carroll Lynch I thought gave an incredible performance as Eastman, and the back story really helps give us an understanding on Morgan's psyche. I'm sure we'll get back to the chaos next week (not that I'm against that either, this may be the finest season yet) but to me this was just exceptional.

I found Morgan to be insufferable. I CLEAR, I CLEAR, THAT'S WHAT I DO, I CLEAR!

Still dislike the preacher guy the most, then Carl. About the only character I like is Carol, she's been fantastic. That ginger army fellow is alright.

I mentioned it in the PCF Shows thread. I thought the episode was meh which is unfortunate since I do really love John Caroll Lynch in pretty much everything he does.

I will say that he appears to have given exactly the performance they were looking for. I just don't find Morgan's storyline compelling at all and therefore didn't have much patience for the episode as a whole.

I actually DID like the episode. I thought it was a nice change of pace. In the previous episode, I rewound the part where he said "a cheese maker" about four times, thinking I misheard him.

I thought the episode okay, if overlong. Eastman's death was weak.
