The Walking Dead (2 Viewers)

Keri and I are still following Fear.

It's even more ridiculous than twd.

Too many lolments to mention but last weeks episode finale, Strand and the military's football stadium gambit rank pretty high on my list.

Can't wait, Itching. Is gnu ready :D?

There is no more gnu, but my disappointment with the walking dead shows persists. That last episode of FTWD was just god-awful with the barber casually leading a massive horde into the military hospital like it's something he does everyday and he has no concerns because he just knows it's all going to go to plan.

Plus the three military guys showing up in the garage and there's a bunch of cars down there but of course they just go straight to the truck the two kids are hiding in and smash out a window. I don't know how those writers ever got jobs beyond their school newspapers.

I think you missed the bit where he mentioned he was a zombie shepherd at the same time he was doing all the torturings.

The end was my favourite. The execution of mum when she hadn' started showing any symptoms. Don't spend any quality time with the family, just cut to the chase! They spent plenty of time hugging and crying in the surf afterwards though. Guess they really hated her.

Ah, didn't remember the alias change. Can't wait to see the first episode though. I'm just gonna eat my carrots and enjoy the ride.....

Tonight's episode was

I'm watching the season premier right now. About 30 minutes into the 90 minute premier and I'm wondering why they don't just make Molotov cocktails and burn the trapped walkers, rather than letting them out and trying to lead that large a horde.

Is that the "haunting, horrific and psychologically unnerverving" emoticon, Tommy?

lol... just an unsure one. :)

too easy

Hoping this guy bites it next. I hate him even more than Carl, which I didn't think was possible.

They've managed to make watching television a survival horror experience. I thought that first episode would never end!

@Anthony Martino - see, zombie shepherding is a thing!

Alright now I'm seeing people writing in TWD reviews that you-know-who might not really be dead after last night. Did we not see the goddamn zombies feast on his delicious intestines?

If he isn't dead I'll be done watching the show.

He won't be dead, the guts we see are from the guy who fell on top of him, they'll find some way to keep him alive. Plus, from what I've heard his death in the comics is like legendary and while the tv show has strayed from the comics they'll tick off a lot of fans I suspect if he doesn't perish like he did in the comics. I'd say I'm 80/20 on him being alive.

The one thing we know for certain is that we WILL see him again... If he isn't dead we will see him as a walker (or at bare minimum we will see Maggie find his corpse).

He wasn't a guest on Talking Dead and was not mentioned in the "saying goodbye to those we lost" montage. If he isn't alive AMC wants us to think he might be.

I think it's bad form to do a pump fake at a major characters death but at the same time i really like Glenn. Is it improbable that he would be able to pull himself under the dumpster without being noticed? Obviously. Could some scenario happen where he is covered with gore making the walkers uninterested (which has happened before) and somehow scramble under the dumpster while the walkers in his immediate vicinity are distracted consuming Nicholas's corpse? I guess...

Part of me hopes he got out of it because I like Glenn. Part of me hopes he didn't because it's pretty far fetched. While there is no doubt in my mind that we will see Glenn again, my guess is that we will see him as a walker.

And Anthony, while they don't do everything anywhere near how the comics play out I can't see them not using that death sequence. I'm guessing they are saving it for Daryl.

I'm hoping he got out of it somehow but I don't know how they'd manage to swing it. All the flesh and blood he'd be covered with (Nicholas) would be fresh so that would only attract the walkers to him more so I don't think that's a possibly scenario unfortunately.

Looking at the logistics, while the walkers fill the alley how many can see him? I'm not sure what if any thoughts go through walkers heads but if the six directly around him are happily munching on fresh entrails and have other walkers bumping them from all sides and piling on top whos to say they would notice Glenn pulling himself under the dumpster? Theoretically if he did manage it he would be safe, walkers arent going to put their head to the ground searching for another fresh body unless their attention was drawn to it.

If he is really dead then Maggie won't be far behind, she's already lost her entire family and Glenn is the only thing left for her to hold onto. Once he's out of the picture she's going to downward spiral real quick

Maybe it plays out in a Romeo and Juliet sequence. All signs point to Glenn being dead, Maggie offs herself as Glenn is just outside the gate and hears the gunshot.

Hope not, Lauren Cohan is smoking hot.

FWIW, I enjoy just watching the story and not second guessing why they did or did not do something. Let's face it, if you were in the zombie apocalypse, would you not make a suit of armor out of tires and duct tape/string like every 80's mad max movie? There are 10,000 holes anyone can see in the story, like if they are already infected, why does a zombie bite kill them? I am sure somewhere this is "explained" but it should just be a flesh wound. If I have the flu, getting bitten by a flu patient will not make the super flu. And why do zombies even eat? Their organs do not process food, they should all be dried beef jerky zombies at this point of the story because they do not get nutrition from food and don't drink water, body is mostly water, so should be crunchy.

Anyway, I don't see how he could survive it, and not sure why they did not climb the stairs on the building to the right of the dumpster, kill a few to block the stairway and ride it out on the roof, or why the injured people did not do something similar rather than try and run for it. In the end, it is entertainment and so far I enjoy the story. I'd rather read the comic/graphic novel after the wrap up the series instead of psudo- knowing what might be next.

I will say I did not care for the "rescue" in Fear, torture guy destroys everything to try and save one person, who ends up dead anyway. Also not sure why machine gun fire appeared to have little to no effect on the dead at the gate. Watch them firing point blank and no zombie reactions, bad editing or acting/directing, not sure but am sure that there should have been masses of bodies after that much automatic fire.

I have enjoyed this season so far, hope it continues to shock and entertain.

I'm more of an Emily Kinney fan myself
Beth was a very cute girl but a bit on the goody goody side. She'd be looking for love while Maggie would grab the back of your head on the floor of a ransacked drugstore with corpses strewn about the place and just go to town.
