I did wait over 2 weeks to get to the Dr, but even so, something about this time of year that my ears just don't like. Hopefully the antibiotics kick in fast and I can get most of my hearing back..

I get this every season too. I start taking flonase daily around October 10th and it goes a long long way to easing my general sinus congestion which always leads to ear stuff

I messed up ..

Going up to Green Bay for the Chiefs vs Packers game (@Chawks45 .. if you are in town, let me know). and booked a VRBO. went to make my last payment, and realized that I booked the wrong weekend. No wonder it was so cheap....

Had to find another place for 4 people .. and done. it is 3x the price of the 1st place.

Here is the B.S. -- another person(a friend of one the original 4) was going to come up and stay with us, and we were going to split the place 5 ways. I told the guys the total cost, and they are paying me that. Just get a text from my buddy saying that he can't come now. SO, I either have to eat the cost, or go back to the guys and ask for an extra $150 per person.

To make things even better, because I F'ed up, and the place was triple the cost, I am eating the cost of the game tickets.

AND even better, my buddy who is the big packers fan is having some very difficult financial hardships right now.

SO, this trip is 3400 for the weekend (2800 for the house, 650 for the tickets) and I think I'm going to have to eat 3/4 of the costs. At least the airfare round trip was $114 :-)

Kind of pissed, but at the same point, I can't not go. I mean, I could not go and really upset these guys who have been waiting all year for this trip. Guess it sucks being the nice guy.

A lot of us remember when UPS had no tracking whatsoever, no flat rate boxes, and no shipping supplies at all. Just wrap your box in brown paper, pay the postage, and it got there when it got there. Nobody stressed about it. Larger packages were general delivery and you went and asked for your packages personally. #lessinfotoworryabout

When I was a little kid, my big brother convinced me that the big brown vans were an organization of professional kidnappers.

I'm more afraid of trusting them today than I was at 5.

Seriously, the first word was that my delivery would be on Monday the 20th. I checked they app Saturday morning and it said it was out for delivery. Groovy. I stayed home and waited for it to arrive. At 9pm last night, the app said that they tried to deliver but no one was home to take delivery. Then I got a message that they could not get to my address because they did not have the gate code. Which is it? A: I wasn't home, B: They wouldn't know if I was home because they didn't have a gate code, or C: The kids were at Grandma's and he was hopin' to get lucky?

Found someone liquidating a cardroom for her father! Thousands of chips, cash and tourney that were barely used because their license got pulled! Forgot how much they paid, said yes the chips were clay! I ask for pics and say I have cash on hand, she says of course and she'll get back to me tomorrow! Woooo!!!!


2 weeks later, I get a call: cards are KEMs, chips are clay, and they are definitely willing to ship them to me!

Pics finally arrive after 2 weeks of hoping:

He has to have dirt on the NBA regarding the cheating/betting scandal (Donnaghy) or something along those lines. Dude was a plague on our CP3 Rockets team too. If Stern didn't give him the boot what the hell is Silver going to do? He's spineless. Don't get me wrong, CP3 can be an ass, but Foster even had a grudge against Tim Duncan of all people; that shouldn't even be possible.

Omg I forgot about TD. It’s kinda funny eberyone weighing in, I had CP3 with my clippers

I think the most egregious was during the rockets run though, that was insanity. There were obviously unneeded calls where foster was begging CP to chirp. Watching CP have to hold back was like watching Get Out.

Damn. Buy a gift from Facebook marketplace, reasonably priced, not suspiciously low or anything. I now believe its a scam; I found the exact same item listed as available on a few different profiles after some searching.

UPS says "we can't deliver it, no one's home" at 10:13.
UPS then says "we successfully delivered it!" at 10:14. Come home, no package, nothing shows up for a week.

I file a claim, say it never arrived, and an investigation is started! Yes! Go get em, detectives!

Another week passes, and they've now issued a claim to the seller/shipper, so they'll get reimbursed for the item they probably never sent, and UPS tells me to contact the scammer to get my refund.

Is this business as usual?

Yup - insurance/lost package is always with the shipper.

You need to file a claim via PayPal or your credit card (if you paid via either of those methods)

Kinda funny story, we have a new refrigerator and first time we’ve had to replace these water filters. Wife orders some, changes the filter, then comes up saying the refrigerator is broken. (“oh FFS, what did you do now” - lol.)

I go reinstall the filter, no water - nothing works. Rinse repeat, same thing.

Google “wtf with my refrigerator”. After ~45min of useless videos we see one about how to “defeat the RFID chip in the filter”. What da fug…water filters have RFID’s now..(yes GE refrigerators do)

Anyway, Lightbulb, uhhh “where did you order these from..?”. Wife “some site”..hmmmm

Sure enough, these were fake knock offs in sealed “OEM” packaging - no RFID (all the water dispensing features now disabled - Oh joy.)

Happy ending, call the CC company, they take one look at the charge “overseas merchant” (China) and credit the charge immediately (~$120).

Be careful out there peeps, these sites are getting slick.

Damn, thanks. Filed the claim with credit card, hoping for the best. Big bank won't miss my $100 but would be nice to have back in my pocket.
 
Let's set the scene: I report directly to the CEO of my company and work with all the other Os regularly. I am currently on week 12 of my medical leave and I get this text from an O:

Hey Elizabeth, this is XXX. I just heard and I want you to know that I am terribly sorry I didn’t reach out sooner, but I didn't know why you were out. I just thought you were out on a trip again! Please let me know if you need anything. I mean that sincerely!! I will keep you in my prayers just know that I have been thinking about you and miss working with you.

WTF? Name one organization where you can take a trip for 12 weeks. In addition, my leave wasn't a secret - I was telling absolutely every single person I work with so they'd be able to ask questions before I was out. Of course, this person declined my weekly recurring update meeting.... again... like they do every week. Which also means you don't get to "miss working with me" when you generally don't bother.
