Things That Are Bullsh*t (11 Viewers)

@T_Chan @bsdunbar1 check out this nonsense.....

Bit casualties from one (1), one fucking table. Apparently I met the most stubborn sheets of Baltic birch on the planet. I've been doing this a long time, and have never encountered anything like it, it had me questioning everything from cut speed to technique to my beloved Bosch router. Broke 4 on the main table cuts and had to order more. When 2 more brandy new bits broke cutting only 3 cup holder rings (with a different router), I switched out for a scrap piece of regular birch as a final confirmation of my sanity. Like butter for the remaining rings, so it was definitely this specific sheet. Crazy!
WOW
I think I would seriously pull my hair out, even though I have none!
If you didn't make some test runs on a different piece of wood, I would suspect a bad collet.
I bet you are glad that is over :wtf:

Holy crap. That just have been uber frustrating. Have you thought of trying spiral bits instead? I find they break less easily than straight bits.

That must have been some titanium lined plywood or something.

Given the slip patterns on the bits, I'll likely order new ones for both my Bosch and Porter Cable after this, I think this sheet just messed them up. The "final straw" was on the fourth cup holder ring, I literally watched the bit get drawn out and deeper in the wood (thankfully was able to stop quick enough to prevent it from breaking). Abandoned ship on the baltic mid-ring and switched to a piece of regular birch to finish the rings, and got through them in 1/4 of the time of the first 3. That at least made me feel better that it was the material and not my routers.

Last week when the first 4 straight bits broke and I ran out, I very gingerly switched to a spiral upcut to finish the cup holder holes. It worked out better than the straight bits, but it was still crazy slow. That bit is like 4 to 5 times the cost of the straight bits I get, I've found the straight bits are usually most cost effective in the long run. They do break more often, but I can usually get at least 2 to 4 tables out of one bit.

Man, we’re seeing more and more “edges only” pics in the mailbag thread. It’s becoming more common than good pictures. How about some goddamned inlays, so the rest of us have a clue what you’re showing off?? Enough of this IYKYK bullshit! Know what? IDeffingK!!! And with 89 flavors of freaking tigers, I’m never gonna K! Who could remember all that? Or the ten thousand other edge spot combos out there?? WHAT DID YOU GET IN THE MAIL? I HAVE NO CLUE!

I had this same thought for items for sale in the classifieds. I was away from the hobby for an extended period of time so legitimately have no idea what some of the chips look like on the face.

I am however guilty of posting a quick picture in the mail thread, though more out of excitement of getting them all out to look at vs caring about everyone else seeing them.

Coworker just told me hes been banned from Atlantic City for winning $1700 at Blackjack.

H'okay buddy, sure, they're scared of your prowess.

Not just one casino, but the Whole City.

You’ve got to teach this co-worker to shear the sheep, not skin it. He got too greedy.

My favorite part. He said it like its Oceans Eleven or something, like the heads of all the casinos blacklisted him collectively for the good of the ecosystem.

"Nope, they don't want people like me there."

I think they do want him to play…and I think he lost $1500 and wants an excuse to not go to a casino when his friends invite him. He’s scared now.

“Sorry fellas…I’m not allowed to go win money with you. Wish I could, but they are still hurting from my $1500 dunkfest”.

Me and him are in the same boat. I figured out the system to always win at the slot machines, and took the house for $1700. While I'm still allowed to play table games, they just won't let me play slots.

So if you never see me playing a slot machine, it's not because they're inherently -EV.

It's because I'm just too good.

 :whistling:

- Chips without edge alignment.
- Paulson not producing customer chips.
- Edge flashing.
- KEM Arrow warping.
- Warping cards anyway.
- Spinners.
- CPC spinners!!!! (got the roman mold)

So obviously they think he is an advantage player. Is he?

Because even at small stakes, if they think you're counting it's a snap-ban.
It may be the case, but my money is on just outright lying. Hes a notorious one-upper and has told some pretty outlandish stories. Picture the Chris Farley character in Billy Madison lying about sleeping with the teacher.

You're right though, if he was counting on his fingers he could just get tossed!

I call these guys STAN (Shit, That Ain't Nothin').

People who think they're Neo after they watch some YouTube videos are my favorite. Busyish afternoon at work, can't take full bait.

Sorry guys. Editted my post to something more about chips and cards. But feel free to pm me if interested.
Off-topic is fine, but anything political should be confined to Politics. That's a no-go and a potential ban anywhere else.

Not sure how the mods feel about pseudoscience, but you will catch a lot of flak from many members here for it.
