Things That Are Bullsh*t (7 Viewers)

I have been silent on the issue publicly... I had a response all typed out here. Out of respect to the powers that be I deleted it and went with a different approach.

But I ask... is it really fair across the board?

Why would Dave make a statement like Finally?? Seems as though these things have been allowed in the past... you know maybe a warning given. There was an auction some time ago for some Jack's a monster bid was placed and then withdrawn. He was allowed back the same day of banning. Another member posts about another race in a derogatory manner stating that their rap music is all about sex and their body parts. Rule number one flat out broken.. highly offensive zero ban.

Nowhere are the penalties for first time offenses posted that we can find. Ok maybe when we signed up but if excommunication even temporary from an entire section of the forum... that is a pretty steep penalty.

Dave if rules have changed overtime is there an area for viewing those changes?

Is this seriously a challenge of integrity?? Zero negative of neutral feed back for either of us? She wasn't even given the opportunity to reinstate her bid... it was a mistake!

Keep in mind my dinning room table is covered with the 4th grouo buy that Brianna has ran for the community. Not a single item on that table is for her. Not one!! She does it to help the community out of the kindness of her heart!

It should be obvious that PCF is our life, we absolutely love this community! And if anyone honestly thinks that we would jeopardize our good standing with this community in anyway, over a $5,000 bid or a $1 bid you are absolutely incorrect.

So let's all come together and beat the last little thread of moral fiber out of this amazing woman to make a point. Congratulations to all of you!! You point has been made, I hope you trully feel that justice has been served, that everything is totally fair and righteous in the world.

To each and everyone of you that support Brie and have spoken up, THANK YOU many of you are personal friends that know this woman! That know that she will bring food and do anything asked at any meet up! That she is young and still learning... but that she has an absolutely amazing Heart! Your public opinion s being shared will not be forgotten.

I am a man that had been accused of wearing my heart on my sleeve, I am an open book. I share every thread of whom I am publicly, I have been asked to be quiet and let this blow over. As it is a public forum my words are just as valuable as any others.

Comments like #988 are those really needed here? Are you proud if yourself for that one buddy? Another little knife won't hurt right?

Fellow Chipper, lover and admirer of the guilty!! Ben
And people said PCF was getting boring?

The rules explicitly state, number 5, “No bid edits or bid retractions permitted. (note: ALL edits are logged instantly)”. So Brie broke the rule. She broke a rule, not intentionally and in good faith, with almost no one knowing what the consequences are that aren’t publicized (to my knowledge).

I’ve also routinely seen rule 2 routinely broken. “Bids must be placed using numbers (no images), in whole dollars, and in minimum increments of [ $ add amount here ]“. I have no idea what the punishment is for that!?

So for everyone that’s saying, “Rules are rules”, good riddance, and the like, well jeez good luck following the letter of the law in every instance. Every time someone says fuck off or fuck you in a non joking manner, can we please get them a warning regarding harassment? If things are breaking rules like thread crapping, why do we just “ clean the thread” up? Is purposely hindering the ability to sell not more integral to this site as a marketplace rather than a retracted bid?

Just seems like a bizarre time and place to make an example so we’re all aware of a rule. I could detest Brie and still would be confused by this.

It’s a bummer when such a high profile positive member gets into hot water over something that she wasn’t aware of. Everyone here should know that she didn’t think she was breaking such a major rule. While the classifieds need to be policed, I feel the end result here doesn't make PCF stronger. A better solution could have been reached.

Soon maybe some of you will find out in another way just how awesome Brie is...and/or Ben and liltuna. I’ll tell the story in a couple weeks if everything works out.

Brie I’m sorry this happened to you

Just pointing out that there was in fact some leniency shown here.
I was also spanked recently. I had no idea I was violating any rules. You can find my complaints and pleas for leniency, ..uhm.. nowhere
Excuse me... where did either of us ask for leniency??? @Lil Tuna made the first post on the subject. At no point did we beg for her reinstatement. Pointing out things that are bull crap because there has been favoritism shown time and time again!

Thanks Mike, I appreciate the kind words. Without knowing the technological side of operating a forum my statement may appear ignorant, but wouldn't it rid the problem entirely if the edit option was removed from auction posts?

Brie is great, and everyone knows it. The inconsistent moderation on this forum has been as an issue for quite some time.

I don’t know if the user matters, I think it’s strange to apply a punishment that no one is aware for an act that had no ill intent (an accident of sorts).

I do agree though, adding in the fact that for all intents and purposes it was done to an “upstanding member”, with 100 percent positive feedback, hosting multiple group purchases and events, active participation, etc., doesn’t bode well.

Certainly we could have just made a comment/update to the locked guide thread to auctions stating that there are now these consequences for these actions?

Fair enough. And BTW I was referring to myself only. I never pointed out the violation here.

Eh fuck it. I was trying to be even keeled and objective, I’m already loud enough on here and what I say is probably taken with a grain of salt.

But yeah, theres plenty of examples. We need to pick, letter of the law or spirit of the law? Why do I have a negative feedback, from a user who misunderstood the rules, and who left the feedback when I made a comment about them, us having not purchased or sold anything to each other?

There was no poor buyer or seller experience, there was no attempted purchase, etc. But we can no longer ask to have feedback changed, because it’s become too common and tiresome. Soooo, which rule are we following?

Heaven forbid we leave feedback about someone attempting to dox folks, or have cops involved for misrepresentation and theft of $60, or for having social media accounts that regularly dable (admittedly) in child pornography - but yes, let’s leave feedback not regarding a purchase about someone being rude. (I mean, honestly maybe I should’ve been temp banned for being abusive or something though)

yeah I get what Jambine meant for sure. @Ben0586 and @FordPickup92 Jambine is a good dude he did not mean any harm.
I have sat silent and let people voice their opinions, put yourself in her place... backed into a corner without a plastic knife to defend yourself with? I am 100% respectful of all people, and great members of this community. Some do not share those same morals and just as I stand up for noobs that get picked on regularly, I will also admit that she did wrong. No glass house references, nor sinless bible quotes. Sorry if I am on edge but I am defending the woman I love just as I would expect any of you to do as well! @Jambine 100% I apologize sir!

It can sometimes be difficult to identify tone through the internet. I opted not to respond to or see some posts right now since I'd rather not dig the hole deeper than it is at the moment.
Honestly I accept the rules, and although I am very upset it is what it is. Whatever I may feel is fair or unfair it is not up to me to decide. I'm not particularly pleased to have everyone point their fingers at me to make a point be known, but it's not the first time, and I will be fine. My primary issue was that the policy was not publicly known, and maybe the assumption is that the honor system should be flaw proof and they need not lay out the law for everyone to see. I think it should be posted in the auction guidelines, so all members know and understand the level of seriousness that is taken with bids in auctions. Some members have been here a long time and dont need this information, some new members will make this mistake, receive a ban and may never return. Some of you may prefer that, some of us don't mind accepting that mistakes happen and helping someone to understand and learn. I also fully understand that learning that mistake in the middle of someone's auction where money is involved is highly inconvenient.

We are all so judgmental today. @Ben8257 and @FordPickup92 , you know what kind of people you are. And you know who your friends are. Don’t mind people that want to go out of their way to bring you down. And you both know that rules are rules and should be followed.

Let’s try to be healthy and move past this. @BarrieJ3 I understand where you are coming from but choose not to go to that dark place.

Fo shizzle. That was for you.

I looked. I didn't see it stated explicitly (perhaps because it's so obvious).
There’s all kinds of rules, ToS and other places, but no explicit repercussions.
I didn't know any of these things lol (unless the doxxing attempt was on another chipping site)
New one, but months (or year?) ago. Not a public one.

I was just calling bullshit bullshit. Stuff like this is how you end up with everyone being petty bitches and pointing out everytime someone trips over a rule.

Are you for hire when I have to go to PCF court?

I don't know what the auction was that caused all this trouble.

Just irresponsibly speculating that it was boat chips. Those chips are cursed! Like Greg Brady's tiki statue. @FordPickup92, did you wake up to a trantula crawling on you?!

Look, bottom line @FordPickup92, your reputation speaks to the type of person you are. No one thinks you tried to harm anyone, and I applaud you for accepting the rules and the punishment and acknowledging your actions.

This too shall pass.

This next part is not directed to Brie, but just the forum in general and particularly, those crying about injustice and unfair treatment. IMO, no one is entitled to any treatment (fair or unfair). It's an internet forum. If you disagree with the way it's run, bye Felecia. Sure, the forum would suffer if there was a mass exodus. But I'd bet dollars to donuts that Tommy is trying to avoid that by keeping things fair. Sometimes, tough calls have to be made in the interest of the greater good. It sucks in the application this time. I don't know all the details, I don't want to know all the details. But In Tommy I Trust, so I assume it was the right call given the circumstances. Carry on.

Spin that shit one more time, B Rabbits got one last thing to say.

We got people yelling “my community”, that don’t have a single post outside the classifieds. We have people that will tell on others, putting their tens (hundreds?) of thousands of dollars at risk and limiting new chips to the community.

But we gotta uphold our firm stance here, because without rules it’d be anarchy?

A workaround shouldn’t be that hard. How about you get one freebie, one warning, if you’ve ran 10+ charity auctions/giveaways, or hosted a meetup in the last year, or provided help with a breakdown for the 100th time.

Maybe just give a freebie/warning for every 10,000 posts they have ;)

You’re seeing that feedback (at least in my case) because I’ve seen us not follow our rules because literally, we’re tired of dealing with it or upholding it. But even more so, because we have people saying in response that it’s about time we uphold this rule, or that if we didn’t the community would crumble.

Hyperbole or sycophant, I couldn’t say. I’d agree on some level, but why level those charges and comments here and now?

Moving on. What we got next on our Thursday docket y’all? :ROFLMAO:

I agree no one is entitled to any special treatment. My issues are with the lack of transparency and consistency.
