Is it normal for stacks to be this much out of balance? Is that just excess chip dust in one stack? Just clean them and shut up about it?

With the CSQ small order that I just received (68 chips), I noticed this as well. I tried to remove the odd chips from barrels that I will use and set them aside as singles that I will give away. I don't know if this is normal with CSQ, but I certainly noticed.

My order has these discrepancy as well. There are some barrels with almost half a chip less in height than the others. Oiled and cleaned them already so chip dust ain't a factor, also warping ain't a factor in my case... They stack nicely...

Btw: the blue T500 is the nuts!!!! Awesome color combo!!

That's a good idea. I guess I'll just have to inspect each and every one to hand pick the most uniform chippies.

This is my first CPC order, so I just wasn't sure if that was normal or not.

Some of the mold cups on certain molds are a little more worn than others. These mold cups are several decades old and wear down over time. With this, some chips will come out thicker than others due to inconsistencies in pressing due to wear. This is more noticeable on some molds in comparison to others. CSQ and DSQ seem to have the most problems with this.

My B-mold set has some uneven barrels but not to the degree of my CSQ Rounders and DSQ sets. The only time is really bothers me is if a barrel is too thick to fit in a rack, in which after that, it's mostly trial and error trying to pick out the thicker chips and exchange them with thinner ones to make all the barrels fit.

OK - I guess I'll keep them then ;)

Cut both barrels in half. Swap the top half of each. You’ll either have two barrels of the same height or you’ll have gained an extra chip #science  :ROFLMAO:

I also checked my new CSQ set and yeah some barrels are half a chip higher. To be fair I never noticed until I saw your post.

I'm already anticipating my non-chipper poker crew (which is literally all of the regulars) to ask me how much I spent on these chips. Pretty sure I'll just reply with a "shut up and enjoy the nice chippies. And you're welcome."
Don’t even mention them and see if anyone notices. They won’t. They never do.

Shit I sound like the wife after she’s had a haircut  :ROFLMAO:

First rule with chipping: You don't talk about prices (unless buying or selling).
Second rule of chipping: Enjoy the chips.

We scrutinize CPC ships a hell of a lot more than others because they are personal, unique and we are much more connected to them having designed and worked on them for so long. What we don't realise is that height variation is common among all chips. A while ago I stacked various TRKs and found that their heights varied quite considerably but no one talks about that.

Enjoy the hell out of your CPCs - I know I do!

Very true! Many of my chips have been put into play so they are well mixed up at this point. Could also be why I don't see very much variation between chip heights.

You get all the credit! Your design! I just asked if I could use it!

So is your set the primaries and mine will be the secondaries!?

Damn, every time I see a new amazing CPC it makes me question the design of my sets. I’m much more happy with my cash set which was my second order. But I wish I could go back in time and redo the label on my tourney set.
