Not really -- you confirmed it when you destroyed someone else's property....You calling me shortsighted is an opinion....
Hello,Not really -- you confirmed it when you destroyed someone else's property.
The simple facts are that he runs a business, at which he charges pretty high prices -- yet he has ~19,000 sales, with a 99.4% satisfaction rate.
I don't know him, but I've bought from him several times with no problems.
OTOH, I wouldn't deal with a child like you.
I like this. We can agree! Are we becoming PCF buddies????Getting the wrong chip sucks, especially a plastic slug in place of a THC. That said, there’s an extremely broad range of ways to handle it … we are apparently on opposing sides of that spectrum. Others are right there with you. Hopefully that’s OK.
Honestly….I would expect the seller to have handled this the way I would have as a seller. I would send out the right item IMMEDIATELY, and humbly ask that the wrong item be shipped back, and refund enough to cover postage back. If the wrong chip isn't worth it, let the buyer keep it.
I too am surprised that he asked you to send it back before giving a refund.
My opinion exactly. How about a little fking humility. He’s the one who made the mistake.I would expect the seller to have handled this the way I would have as a seller. Nah, calling me a money rapist and “stop wasting my time” comments………..My opinion exactly. How about a little fking humility. He’s the one who made the mistake.
How did I become the bad guy in all this?
Those chips mill surprisingly well too.....View attachment 985812
Or at least it looks like it.
I only take issue with you destroying the chip. Don't you know @Josh Kifer could have removed the stamp and put a custom one on there?! There's a lot of potential in the, uh, uh, completely plastic with metal insert painted-on suits mold.
Let’s go Brandon!!! Your post is spot on!Dealt with him once. Worse than chipsncats and business10101. Unwilling to sell more than a single chip no matter the price. Yes, to Larry point, he has a business to run, but at the few dollars price tag you’re complaining about, I’d say I’m shipping the CORRECT product because I fucked up. Keep the other chip. Not worth the $3 postage back to me. Thank you for being a customer. End. Of. Story. But nope. $2 got in the way of him doing the right thing. I just move on. If $10 is THAT important to your business, I’d be happy to donate to your GoFundMe
Yeah, I’ve had this experience with 777 before and this is how I handled it, wasn’t a problem at all. When the seller sends you the wrong item and you bring it to his attention and he says "no problem, just send it back to me and I'll give you a refund" immediately stop messaging him and begin the eBay returns process. If he sent you the wrong item eBay will give you a free return shipping label and make him pay for it, along with giving you a refund.
Things will be different now that you've destroyed the chip he sent you, since now you can't send it back to him. That was probably a mistake on your part. You might be able to get things worked out to your satisfaction, but it may be more difficult to get what you want now.
Haven't had any dealings with this particular gentleman, but I did have to go through the returns process with mikeauto1972 after he sent me a chip that was very much not "the exact chip pictured" and then blew me off in direct messages. Got no satisfaction from the seller but was able to get what I needed through eBay, although I had to chat with a support rep to clear it up.Yeah, I’ve had this experience with 777 before and this is how I handled it, wasn’t a problem at all.
I’ve bought probably 50-60 chips from him over the last 3 years as I built my $1/$2/$5/$25 singles casino collection and I’ve only had this problem once and it was a complete non issue.
Yeah it’s literally not about the money. It’s about owning it. Doing things right.Haven't had any dealings with this particular gentleman, but I did have to go through the returns process with mikeauto1972 after he sent me a chip that was very much not "the exact chip pictured" and then blew me off in direct messages. He's on my "I won't deal with him" list; I can't abide the sheer dishonesty of posting "this is the exact chip you will receive" in the listing when you know darn well it's not. And it's such a stupid thing to be dishonest about! Spinettis says "this is a stock photo, you'll get one in similar condition" and that's fine, who cares, I don't need to see the exact chip, but if you're gonna go to the trouble of saying it's the exact chip don't f*ing lie about it, jeez. So a) dishonest and b) stupid equals c) no thanks, I'm done with you.
Bummer you got the wrong chip in the mail, but a few thoughts ….
At first glance it appears the seller is relatively reputable and had sold tens of thousands of chips? Assuming fraud out-of-the-gate may be a bit of a stretch. Even so …
Blaming the seller for going radio silent after your refusal to follow eBay’s return policies also seems a bit shortsighted. Buying and selling is a mutual exchange, and sometimes things go wrong. Your unwillingness to accept that definitely raises caution flags.
Then destroying the seller’s product and forcing eBay to cover the cost “out of principle” and because it “isn’t worth your time”? Eh. If this is acceptable behavior, then I for one wouldn’t ever accidentally send you the wrong chip — because I wouldn’t feel comfortable shipping you anything.
While I appreciate the entertainment value here, I have to say not a good look with the overreaction. Not trying to be confrontational, just trying to give you another perspective …
Yeah. That's never known to happen on here........I understand all the sides here but my honest opinion is that this thread is already a page longer than it needs to be.
Onwards and upward!
Why didn’t you just tell him that you’re starting the return process via eBay because the chip wasn’t the right one? It’s a pretty simple process.Yeah it’s literally not about the money. It’s about owning it. Doing things right.
• He told me I had the option to keep the plastic chip, and charge me for it. WTF X1
• Mail it back, and he will refund it once he gets it. WTF X2
• Says I’m wasting his time. WTF X3
• Says I’m raping him on postage. WTF X4
I mean…. Dude……. WTF Who operates a business like this?
I said “hey wrong chip, how can we fix this?”Why didn’t you just tell him that you’re starting the return process via eBay because the chip wasn’t the right one? It’s a pretty simple process.
Bergs would say “hey, I got the wrong item, I’m going to start the eBay return process unless you want to handle it differently”.I said “hey wrong chip, how can we fix this?”
He said, “you can keep it for $4 or send it back and I’ll refund you once I get it….
It went downhill from there. Don’t rape me, wasting my time, unraveling etc.
If I sent Bergs an item, and Bergs purchased a different item…. Bergs says Hey Lou, wrong item…. Guess what I do?
“Hey Bergs, I fucked the duck on that one! Keep the mistake dude, it’s my bad.”
I would then give you a new tracking number, send you the correct item (plus a gift to make you happy)”
Because that’s just the standard…. I sure as fuck wouldn’t say stop wasting my time, you’re trying to rape me, keep the dumb thing I sent ya but for a fee…….
