View Outside My Window (9 Viewers)

What are you guys doing down there? Leave that weather to the experts.
You can have this shit back, take it please. First to admit we have no clue what to due with this much snow and 0 degree temps. I'm pretty much hunkered down and praying that the power holds as I can't do anything to get out of my abode in my rear wheel drive vehicle. I'd be trudging across the tundra, mile after mile.......

Only good thing is, it makes me feel like Michael Schumacher driving to work.

It's been 18 years since living in Chicago and Detroit, but I still have the chops to handle a perfectly executed drift around a corner and make safe, lane changing, passes.

Nice and cute reggae song recorded by Greeks, in Jamaica.
"Den kanei cryo stin Hellada"
"It's never cold in Greece, it's never been cold actually"
Wishful nice little song. Everybody who 's lived even in the south of Greece knows it gets f*ckin bitter cold in winter, with or without snow.:D

Texas and Athens currently on the news over here. -17C in Dallas?!?! And the power cuts are making the news as well.

Snowmen being built on the beaches in Greece.

All to do with a change of wind direction in the Arctic apparently. So Mary Poppins is to blame...

We’ve gone from -20C to +10C in 3 days. All the snow has disappeared in a day. Crazy.

My sister's home is out of power. Which means, no heating, either.
Thankfully, she does have a fireplace and some firewood.
She 'll sleep in her sleeping bag in the living room, in front of the fireplace tonight. :D

lots of new babies to be born in 9 months. happens whenever power goes out in cold weather.

though maybe a year of covid quarantine has that out of most peoples system.

Wouldn't it be easier to just open up the attic and let the heat from the house melt the snow off the roof?

At these temperatures, I'm already getting ice dams. Do NOT want any melting off the roof, so I need to ameliorate the snow accumulation on the roof while its still very cold. With that much snow, it would be VERY BAD for it to melt and then re-freeze on the edge of the roof/gutters.

Northwestern Chicago suburbs. Barrington, IL.

Nice. I used to come out there often for work. The locations I was visiting were further out though. Wood Dale and Alsip. Any time I finished work, I’d head to the city to get some awesome food.

Small break this morning but 3 more inches overnight and expecting another 3+", it's really piling up. A balmy 22f for the high today, no temp above freezing expected until Saturday now.

Thanks god we still have power or it would be a total disaster. Feel for all my friends down in TX without power.
