We need orders! (4 Viewers)

All of these posts from David in this thread should be stickied on the CPC vendor page in a FAQ thread. Good stuff here.

Regarding edge spots, is the reason a 3D316 spot (i.e. Lakeshore $1, $5, $20 edge spot pattern) is not possible due to the quick changes in temperature in the slug or more to do with not being able to make a suitable press that wouldn't break? An introduction of this spot to the CPC repertoire would see me remaking a few denominations of my customs.

Slightly different reason - the clay is way too hard to ever be able to punch out that volume of clay without shattering it. And our spots would never come out that shape anyway just due to the manufacturing process.

Interesting thread to catch up on. @David Spragg are ceramic chips/ plaques prices increasing? And a couple more questions regarding ceramic chips; can I submit a set of chips designed using the edge spots for clay chips? And using the most expensive edge spots for clay chips on ceramic chips the price stays the same?

Won't be me. I bookmarked all of these like a good little PCFer. :x:p

No changes to the prices.
Ceramic chips start off as blank white discs. The artwork has to be provided for the entire surface and edge.
They don’t have edge spots unless you include then in your artwork.

Thank You. I have the artwork ready just need to get the money ready.

@David Spragg

Thanks a ton for the answers and information!

After reading all of that, I wholeheartedly will just shut my fucking mouth and be happy hahahahaha!

The work you do and effort involved to appease this very niche hobby is greatly appreciated. I hope you have an heir of sorts who you’re passing this knowledge onto, because this truly is invaluable information and experience.

Everyone, remember there are price increases for orders not paid for by 12/31. So anyone that can only half pay by then can still pay a deposit and that portion of it will be applied at 2023 prices.
how do you go about setting up a deposit? i couldnt fond the option on the site.

Thank you @David Spragg for all of this. While I mentioned some things in this thread, I am VERY happy with the offerings you provide us and our little niche of the world. I know it seems to go unappreciated sometimes, but the world is always good when you get that shipping notice and those little white boxes in the mail.

Wow, amazing detail from David on the process. Really aporeciate the insight. I don’t think 99.9% of the people in casinos or home games have the slightest clue what it takes to make these magical little discs and therefor don’t appreciate them like we do.
I have to be honest, before I got involved 10 years ago I had no clue there was so much involved!

I have another manufacturing question.

When will you be moving manufacturing to Lower Alabama?

We have lots of clay in the ground…it’s a beautiful rusty red. Real cheap.

Land is cheap…low taxes and other incentives…no snow (ever).

I’d run your tours for free…

I’ll come out of retirement and work at CPC if they move to Opelika! :ROFLMAO:

Agreed with @LowerBama1714 - Tons of DayGlo Orange here :)

A new batch of clay is mixed and rolled by combining an equal weight of edgings and raw materials as they blend perfectly. The resultant color clay, once pressed again, maintains an almost exact color to previous batches of chips.

mmm...sourdough clay.

i really appreciate all of the extra information you've provided, david. as an engineer by training and practice (albeit questionably), i am curious (apologies if you've discussed it elsewhere) - what was your professional background before you got into the incredibly niche poker chip manufacturing industry?
