WEBER Grill (1 Viewer)

There is Weber and everything else. They are the Paulson of grills.

^^This. I broke myself in with 2 different "china clay" grills before I bought my Weber. Both were very highly-rated - higher than the Weber, for less than half the cost. What's not to love about that? Both cooked well for one summer, cooked poorly the next summer, then didn't cook at all after that...

Paid the $800 for a Weber Genesis 3 years ago now - no signs of slowing down. I did have to spend about $100 on replacement parts when it blew off my deck in gale-force winds - the wheel locks leave a bit to be desired (lesson learned,) but the grill is a beast. :)

Interestingly (I wasn't expecting this,) it seems to use up much less propane than the cheapos I had as well. Like probably 60-75% less. That's completely off-the-cuff with no data to back it up, so don't quote me. :cautious:

I noticed this as well from my Grill. So weird, I keep expecting to run outta gas, but it keeps cooking.

I have a full, unused propane tank that has been sitting untouched for close to 18 months - I hope the seals on those things hold up... :cautious:

Is there a burger shortage in your part of the world?

Not at all - I had bought 2 (also had a propane heater at the time that gave up the ghost shortly thereafter - replaced with electric) and made it through a whole grilling season (6 months, about 2x/week on average) on 1 tank plus whatever was left from the previous tank (maybe half of it.)

So cooked 50-ish times on 1.5-ish 20-lb. tanks? Seems like a tank on my last grill was only good for about 8-10 cooks. Weber = awesome. That's the moral of the story. (y)

I have a Weber kettle grill that is now 14 years old. I dropped the lid one day and it dented it. Not enough to be visible, but enough that it wouldn't seat quite right anymore :(.

Mrs Zombie called Weber to see if a lid would cost less to replace than just replacing the whole grill. The answer was yes.

Weber replaced it for $0, and covered the shipping.

I defy you to find another company that would be that cool with their customer service. (y)

IDK, I hear good things about Modiano... :sneaky:

Modiano would have promised me a new lid, then told me to contact the V.P., who was currently unavailable, then told someone else that they were already making a new lid, and then promptly decided to never send the lid.

Checking now to see if Weber wants to make playing cards...

Weber Genesis still cooking after 8 years.. no issues.

I have the Genesis aswell with side burner. Best thing I ever bought. Built like a tank. Pay for quality.
That's a whole other thread, do you use the side burner and how often? My current weber, Genesis SE, does not have one and I've never had a time where I feel like I needed a side burner.

I had a basic three burner Weber that worked flawlessly.

My step-dad upgraded and I took his nicer looking grill with the cabinets, side burner and rotisserie. All stainless steel, bigger and looked a lot nicer.

I really wish I just kept my smaller and older Weber. I'm now in the market for a new Weber grill

This cover will prob help it last longer since the harsh salt breeze air kills everything in hawaii

How was it? Don't be surprised if there is a little feeling out process on where to set the knobs to get things perfect.

I just set em on high to cook some rib eye stil a lot to learn on the settings like you said

We got one last year, best money ever spent. We called it the magic grill - cooks so perfectly and evenly- great grill marks, no scorching.

Do it, I replaced grills ever other year spending $200 each time- waste. I love our weber

And buy or make one of these

https://www.theartofdoingstuff.com/grill-brush/

Got one 2 weeks ago - works great and no fear of a missing bristle.

I gotta say - if you use a wire brush to clean your grill, and there is enough gunk still on your grill to hide a brass bristle - your grill isn't clean.

Leave the grill hot - right through dinner. Burn off most of what is stuck to the grates, then a light brushing dusts off the carbon. No need to throw out wire brushes (though the wood paddle had no real downsides either).
