What are you listening to? (4 Viewers)

Some deep folk, mountain rebel music, centuries-old.
Despised for decades as "village music", during Greece's push into modernity, it has now made a fresh and very strong comeback, touching the souls of urban educated youth.

As with all Greek folk tradition since time immemorial, it's all about Death, or the finiteness and vanity of life.
The chamiko rhythm results into a dance (originally for men and among men only) which may have been the raison-d'-etre of the Greek kilt :).

"Wish youth could come twice and old age never"

"I'm drying out like the basil that's been watered with sea water" (unfulfilled love; a less high-altitude song than the former, with a clear influence from Eastern Roman ("Byzantine") and then Ottoman urban centers).
Introduction: "Would you like to tune up first?" -"We did that in 1985":D
