I despise the fact that I can't get a job. It makes me feel utterly useless, and the fact that I can't provide for my family angers me.

Public Safety Officer/Social Worker/Customer Service Rep/Trainer/and whatever else they the clinics need. I provide Security Services for about 20 small health centers in Ann Arbor. I am a step down from a Police Officer. Only differences is I'm not armed and I can't arrest anyone (at this time). Otherwise I do all the police investigations that occur in my area. Active shooter presentations, physical managements, blah blah blah...........

I like running the offsite clinics. I work more directly with the customer base than the main campus/hospital. Nobody is looking over my shoulder. There is trust that the job will be done correctly. I like that.

I've got two offices and a patrol vehicle that is dedicated to my area.

I'm 47. It took me until 5 years ago to get a M-F gig. It really opens up the weekend poker opportunities :)

Been doing this since 94. Prior to that I was in the Air Force as a Canine Police Officer (87-92). From 92-94 I held a few different jobs while trying to figure out what I wanted to do. Working in a Lumber Yard isn't one of them btw. Nor is working for a small piece of shit county corrections facility.

30+ years working for the same local agency first as an auditor and the last 18 in IT. Before that, 5 years for a parking company at the LR Airport. Prior to that I also flipped Burger Chef burgers, made Shakeys pizza, worked for a rental company & did tree service work.

Other jobs I considered along the way: Double Naught Spy, Fry Cook, Brain Surgeon, Rocket Scientist, International Playboy ;)

When I first started working I waited tables and helped run my fathers restaurant at the age of 13. We grew that business to a small chain of five restaurants. At 17 I moved out and when I turned 18 I went to work in the bar business because I wanted to succeed on my on and not through my father. So I quit the family business and started as a Bouncer in a pool hall (hustled pool on the side) and then became a bartender. did that and was recruited to be a manager for a "high class" first of it's kind Strip bar. I did this for a while when I was getting ready to marry my wife and then all of a sudden or first born was due. I did not want my kids asking what I did for a living and not be able to be 100% truthful. I left the bar business and started working for "the family" I have been working for the last 31 years. I held several positions with this company and here they are
1. Food and Beverage manager (ran all of the golf side) in a large private 36 hole Country Club
2. Worked in Fast food chain as a trouble shooter of low preforming sites
3.. Opened a small business, working with owner's son
4. Operations with 168 C-store Chain. Managing districts
5. 11 years managing all of the products sold through the large chain of C-stores. Marketing/buyer/contract negotiation
6. last 3.5 years Managing the Sales and Marketing of light oils for a large Fuel Transport Company

The acquisition work I was involved in; was one of the most enjoyable parts of my career; it combined many skill sets in an intensely short time frame. We spent time pricing 8 to 10 blocks of business with one very successful acquisition.
