Sidetrack: does "blacking out" happen to a lot of people? A few of my friends always talk about "i can't remember a thing" and I am always confused l, I've consumed a lot of substances in my crazy years and have been as drunk as I can physically get before I literally pass out many many many times and I remember 99% of the night/weekend bender every time. I have never blacked out, I know it's not from trying, and in all honesty I've always chalked it up to bullshit when someone uses the "lol I was so drunk I have no idea why I would do that" line. But it can't be all bullshit, can it? Am I the outlier?

It happened to me once when I was 22. I got into a drinking contest with my buddy who is 6'8" one night. Apparently we called up a few friends around 3am and made plans to go snowboarding the next day. I've never blacked out again since though. Good times...

In your case if you wear your beanie and pocket protector, don't talk, don't drink, and stare apprehensively as the blinds come around while repeatedly counting your chips, I think you've established a 3 hand window where you could bluff.
(y)

I was at Foxwoods last weekend playing around 3am at the 6th consecutive hour at a 1/2 NLHE table. I had some stacks and arranged them all with the edgespots aligned and my neighbor (who I didn't know but had been there several hours) quietly said "you're not fooling anyone, you're not a nit".

It absolutely is a thing. Haven't drank enough in several years, but the last time I did I was at DCS (I think it was DCS II) and I woke up at the table with my head down on my arms and nobody around. It was around 6am, and I have no earthly clue how I got there. I think I had a stack in front of me, walked upstairs, pissed, and looked at the stairs going back down to the game. I remember being intimidated because certain activities like walking were now Herculean challenges. I think I passed out on the couch, but I have no idea when or how I got downstairs at a table with my head resting on my arms.

This was the morning I walked back to the hotel from Courage's (2 miles). I tried to call a cab but the power of speech also seemed to have left me.

(Two #3s from Jimmy John's and I was right as rain 6 hours later though).

If you want to blackout, you have to drink very very quickly - "...drinking as much as I physically can" doesn't play into the equation. You've got to drink enough quickly to get your BAC to astronomical levels before things like fatigue and nausea set in (those things come after).

NOTE: This is not a good thing and should not be attempted once you have graduated college or passed the age of 22, whichever comes first.

Although you might feel like an outlier, I seriously doubt that you are. After all, how much fun is it to entertain your friends with stories about the times you didn't black out?
