If you guys want to learn a bit of history of this place I made of video a few months back! The Silver Star Casino has the dubious distinction of being a North Las Vegas casino that had 2 interrupted short runs: the first time, in 1978, it opened without a license, and was promptly shut down when the owner was denied his application due to his criminal past.
Its second coming also has a really short run in 1984, which is when these chips were put in play; in its previous incarnation, The Silver Star was a slots-only establishment. For reasons unknown, the casino was shut down in early 1985, after operating for less than a year.
gorgeous chips, stakes seem a little low for you thoughThe Silver Star Casino has the dubious distinction of being a North Las Vegas casino that had 2 interrupted short runs: the first time, in 1978, it opened without a license, and was promptly shut down when the owner was denied his application due to his criminal past.

Working on a hundo for the set. And I play all kinds of stakes, depends on who I’m playing with.gorgeous chips, stakes seem a little low for you though
Chipguide seems to imply that these here are Borland "fakes".From the first attempted opening ??

Don't you? Also, I still don’t understand what people mean when they say the labels “feel” different. Are you guys rubbing your fingers over the labels?
Ah, Vegas!the owner was denied his application due to his criminal past

Those chips were made in the 90s by Bill Borland. They are considered "fake chips", never actually used and that's why a majority of them are all in nice shape. From the first attempted opening ??

Stunning! I’d like to see the $1 denom in red toAfter much tinkering and thinking, and as much as I think the Strat $1 will be a great 1, I missed the extra color from the FLV $1, giving a sense of blue sky, sun and clouds. I’m waiting on a couple of racks to test it out, but this is where I’ve landed with the lineup now — with the spotted Flamingo as the $1. It fixes the spot progression issue completely, and looks great to boot. I also took @tommyvulgar’s suggestion of using spot colors in the denom. Great idea!
Finally, I think the Jack Cinci snapper has to stay.
Thanks for all the comments and suggestions, it’s been really helpful.
House mold in the THC set??? Someone on this forum is having a seizure right now.
200 x $100
Derby Gran $500 FTWFurther tinkering with a mixed set led me to this. Super happy with it.
Unfortunately, I have only 120 x $1 and 100 x $5, but hoping 360 x $25, 200 x $100 and 100 x $500 should make the set somewhat playable — maybe a single table $5/$10?
Either way, she’s purrrty!
Yes, I’m aware I mixed a house mold $1 into the set. And that the $5 doesn’t fit the spot progression. But she’s purrtttyyyy.
That was a good exchange. Softening the $25 makes the 5-25-100 sequence more... relaxed.
Great color combinations on the Yosemite Inn…and I was so proud I had managed to score 2 barrels
Yosemite Inns are awesome !

What do u nean by “thick laminated labels”? Are u saying that @Gear has different laminated labels? I always thought he had just one laminated label. The reason I prefer overlabels is that they don’t have the issue of the label being too small for the recess, which leads to blank space where you can see the old inlay’s recess, but there isn’t a label covering it. Plus, unless you opt for Gear’s thick laminated labels, they are too thin for the recesses created by murder, so that makes the label-job look even worse.
Also, I still don’t understand what people mean when they say the labels “feel” different. Are you guys rubbing your fingers over the labels?
Yeah, he has a bunch of different types. What do u nean by “thick laminated labels”? Are u saying that @Gear has different laminated labels? I always thought he had just one laminated label.
Would be amazing to see these in play at an epic PCF meetup!Brought my ESSTs out to do a count, and realized how pretty they are together.
That’s what we do at MinneMania (plus bigger denoms)! I think Krish fell back in love with ESST at the last meetup.Would be amazing to see these in play at an epic PCF meetup!
