A larger portion of that conversation during the Q&A part and everyone wanted to talk about that. I talked with Krish via PM and from my understanding they are real. Talked with James Campiglia about the chips on the phone and both him and I think they are real.

I can understand that people are going to freak out about large finds like that, but its going to happen no matter what. Chips are sitting in darkness waiting to see the light of day like I've said so many times before. I mean the stuff that was part of that estate auction was insane to say the least. I fully understood the situation at hand and there was LOTS of talk about it at the chip show over the summer, both good and bad. I personally thought it was good and I said that the value of those chips found wasn't going to be affected. Was I right? I think so.

Recently a Sands $25 and $100 were sold on auction and went for well over what people would think they would've. People are still searching for those chips if they were found in quantity. It all comes down to supply and demand in this hobby especially when someone like Krish isn't willing to sell many of the chips he has. They are locked for a while, like many on here continue to say. That will keep prices high as long as the market isn't flooded.

I don't think that took him out of the hobby. I think he's been offline for a while for other reasons.

I vote for flooding the market…that’s the best thing to do.

He literally made a mess of posting the content of our private PM exchanges (which were nothing more than a deal that didn't work out, as happens dozens of times a day here) while putting a negative spin on me, just because another member put an angry emoji when he posted a picture of the Bourbon Street $5s.

I was looking for a rack, he found 20+ and offered me one at his price, I counter offered and finally decline. Basta. Nothing more.

But a few weeks later, when he get that angry emoji he went on a completely egocentric, manic and disrespectful rant against me and other members, in order to prove once again that he was the good guy, and the others bad and jealous of him. I was the wrong target, those who know me here know.

Thanks for digging it up. Glad someone quoted him before he could delete it. I remember seeing it go down.
 
With ww pockets he didn’t need the money! Or else the chip board community would’ve lost it if I found that hoard guaranteed I would’ve buckled and dimed them on eBay for years for 4-5k a piece some worth well more talking r-9 and r-10 and z rated chips worth thousands for a single chip in that condition.

Good for him but again 99% of us will never see the money he had to throw around to secure that hoard. And doesn’t matter if he is going to “keep” all forever at some point either 1year or 50years those chips will get reintroduced into the hobby for whatever reason eventually. I doubt his daughter or son will want 100k casino chips lol.

That in turns does affect pricing when there’s a price guide that values chips based on rarity via amount know.

Real or fake! 1 person can’t tell if he releases 1 on eBay per year for 10years. They can assume but there’s no way of knowing. Collectors will pay k rated prices instead of z. Thus those dinosaurs that some call them are mad because that affected those chips drastically!!!

Good for him but same time ww and a lot of you guys affected the market by buying singles for racks like anything we’ve seen in this hobby before. What was $2-5 chips are now $6-12 for example. Singles collections are dead for the most part as 75% are now racked quantities for desirable edges. Dinos are upset because this changed the hobby . Me I don’t care I got out of pretty much all collecting after Covid started and prices rising on them. I’m slowing sell my stuff off till I finish of my set then I’m done. Keep what I got maybe buy some chiproom stuff on occasion but for most part it’s a hobby that I can no longer afford.
 
A lot more people in the hobby (this isn’t a community and hasn’t been for a long time), plus COVID causing a collectors boom in all things, plus flippers all contributed more to price increases than 1 guy with deep pockets.

I’d like to build a Vineyard set someday and add a rack of hundos onto my new Crystal Park set, and then I’m done and just going to meetups.

I have a copy of Netscape browser saved on a 3 ½ inch Flippy disk... If you have a compatible drive, I can make you a copy. It improves the browsing experience significantly.

This is how they load web browser programs in Scotland with a browser program which is written in BASIC on tape.

After 45 minutes once the browser has loaded @BonScot must connect his Modem and dial into the internet with his modem below to access the PCF. The whole process maybe takes him 2.5 hours to get onto the site and post.

Didn't know they were that advanced over there. I was under the impression that this was how they communicated.
