Windwalker’s Chipping Journey in Pr0n0grAph1C Detail (13 Viewers)

I wouldn't dare using any chemicals. Brute force only (cut and hope for the best). But I'm not sure which condition the chip is in, how much of the substance might have entered the pores or permanently damaged the surface :/

More opened boxes. In other news, I finally cracked the Giraffe ex wife. She unfortunately had only 3 racks. :banghead:

She had no idea what she had, that was the problem. She hadn’t look at the casino / card room stuff in years. We needed to go hunting in that storage facility. Bleh.
Ahhhhh. Digging through storage units now like a proper treasure hunter. Sounds like fun. Were you able to uncover any other casino related memorabilia?

Uniforms, some glassware, some signage. Some felt samples. Business collateral -- letterheads etc.

The King's and Virginian's are amazing and stand out to me. So pretty. Your small mail day is more chips than I have in total lol.

Nope. I don’t collect memorabilia :)
What else did you collect in the past if you dont mind me asking? I recently got into collecting notebooks, it seems a bit random but there is a lot of variety in high quality notebooks

You’re a papyrophiliac, or in the early stages of papyrophilia. It’s more common than you would think.

I’ve collected a lot of things over the years, from coins to stamps to posters to first edition books, maps and journals. I focus mainly on comics, classic cars, and chips now.

Otherwise known as the three C's

I don’t know of a community per se, but this is a good place to start:

Just before I started looking into poker chips, i was really focused on fountain pens and especially their inks, with (at the time) unkown brands who had so many colors. They even have a forum, where people review ink (from color to flow, etc). Some hard core users also used to mix inks to have their own color :)

Check Noodlers ink for ex. to have an idea. It's a fascinating world, but expect to constantly have inky fingers

I have come to accept that literally EVERYTHING has its niche'. We really aren't that weird when you see the full range, past the value increases in the last ten years. Whew.

I’d like to make an offer on this chip on eBay, but does anyone know if the chip can be easily removed from its lucite enclosure? I’ve never seen a chip housed like that.

No. If you look at the chip closely in the lucite, the chip will typically bubble into the lucite on one side. The lucite hot lucite essentially melts the chip when poured.

Thanks john, great to know!

I have a few Viscontis, sailors, platinums, pelikans, pilots and way too many Lamys and, TWSBIs. And many more I’m probably forgetting.

My ink collection is also pretty big, but I usually use a glass dip pen to play with them.

Living in France now has really spoiled me to quality paper, compared to North America.

Me too - I can safely say I have spent more money on pens than chips.

Wow. I only use the shitty pens that they give out at conference centers for free!! I am a #2 pencil gal
You can get fancy pencils too. My wife has been using blackwings lately, and she scoffed at the idea originally, but now she uses them pretty exclusively.

I learned today there are 300K & 500K pokemon cards....my mind was blown

Yeah, that’s actually what I use too. :)
