Attempted to arrange and take family shot. Failed miserably. Might need to double-stack them.

I think I'm in the minority in these, and not talking crap (more realizing how small of a minority I am), but I honestly don't see why everyone adores these. They don't click with me.

I'm weird I guess.

I felt that way till I saw them in person. They’re something else, and it’s super hard to get the camera to capture it.

You're not alone! They don't click much with me either. They are foreign, probably aren't leaded, and are tourney chips. (I never play tourneys.) I get why a set of these would cost $20 per chip or $75 per chip or whatever stratosphere they exist in. If I liked tourney chips, I'd probably love these. WW owns, has owned, and will own cash sets that I like much more than the THC ACdF chips. The THC ACdF chips are in the top five casino tourney sets ever.

To be honest, I’m really happy for you !
You have the sickiest set of ACF worldwide

But, because there’s a but... I’m really sad too to see these amazing chips away from France.
I have not unlimited dollarz like you unfortunately and that’s why they’re gone
These chips are special for me, I had the great chance to play with them at the Aviation Club de France, so it’s really sentimental to me...

Anyway that’s a really nice catch and I hope you will take care of these beauties, I will keep my 490 chips with no chance to increase this number now but I will cherish them forever

I appreciate this note very much. I never played at the casino, but I’ve heard it was wonderful.

Pre-pandemic, I was in Paris for work all the time, and it looks like it’ll pick back up soon. I have an apartment in Saint-Germain-des-Pres, and will be there at least 3-4 times a year. I’ll bring a set of chips on my next visit, and maybe we can have an impromptu meetup at my place.

If this meetup will take place, count me in

Ah, so you have good taste in more than chips!!

I used to go to Paris all the time for business, usually heading out of Gare Montparnasse for points west. And my wife was born there. When we go, it's always the 6th for us too, generally just off Rue du Rennes. Wonderful area of Paris.

Such great food memories in the 6th. Le Clos Y, Chez Marcel and Creperie de Pontivy were my go-to’s. I’m excited to head out there again later this summer. Are you planning a trip back soon, now that travel restrictions have been lifted?

AFAIK, Chex Marcel is still there, off Raspail. Agreed, good place, with interesting cheeses.

For us, it has been Chez Yvette (one of the old-timey, family-run places where, when you ordered pate, they brought out a gallon-sized jar with two spoons sticking out of the top and left it on your table!); a place called Les Bouchons de Francois Clerc, which had great food and sold terrific wines at near wholesale prices; the famous La Coupole on the edge of the 14th; and in recent years, L'Epi Dupin (on Rue Dupin, just below Bon Marche). You should try that last if you haven't been there.

There was a great bakery on Rue du Dragon that we used to frequent, until the owners' daughter emigrated and opened up Bonaparte Breads/Bakery in Savage Mill and Baltimore, MD. Papa (Pierre Lefilliacre) used to ship all the flour over from France, and come over frequently to make sure the food was up to snuff. It looks like the Rue du Dragon bakery is gone now; the Maryland operation is now Rustiq Bakery and Cafe.

We've booked a cruise from Florida to Rome in April, and will wander around from there for a month or two, ending up in Paris -- lockdowns permitting, of course.

A Photoshop mock-up of my 4d14 Commerce Casino tribute set. Denoms are not on, did this just to see if the inlay works, and I love it!

Damn. You landed those purple Las Olas too. Great work Krish. I searched for those for my 4D14 set and couldn’t find them. The Las Olas blues are stunning. These will be fantastic.
