Though not quite the same thing, these probably belong in the conversation. As far as I know, these were only produced in $1 and $5 denoms, and only for this casino. I had put together a barrel, and believe me, they are VERY cool.

The Garden City brass metal inlay set. In search of the elusive $20 or $25 to make the set playable, which it barely is now, given the single rack of $20s, in worse condition than the rest of the set.
My ears after hearing these chips being shuffled for only 2 minutes:
Metal inlay Paulsons were not popular. The only ones I ever had were a handful of $1s from a Texas card room, I think from the late 70's. The metal part is not very thick, and I don’t think it's a solid piece through the center of a chip (more like one thin plate on each side).

Hundo is infinitely better than the previous one, and the dream fantasy chip for that denom. $25 is a great replacement and better fit as well. Praying I find an appropriate rack of Radiant Red’s to use as my frac before you have that realization yourself. have you tried a mock-up with a different $1? I like the new version of this a lot. Never saw my $1 as a cali hundo but it works great. For me, the entire lineup changes on that $25 though. You couldn’t mix and match the $25 from one lineup to the hundo with the next, and they each compliment the other high denom chip well in your mock-ups, but that Blurple $25 is a winner hands down.

I didn’t have the patience to reshoot, so I blended the 2 photos together in Photoshop, which is probably why the barrel of blurples looks a bit off, but it conveys the sentiment, I think.

Yeah no, it’s the white. The spot pattern is perfect. But the white - It’s a polarized opinion - I wouldn’t expect to talk you out of it, I just feel the need to shout it out.

I’m ambivalent to whether white should be a hundo, but it’s the Cali way, I suppose.
Ironically, all the big games I play in LA prefer the black hundo and the yellow / orange $1k. White is usually the color given to the $5k.
Case in point, is my big-game set that I’m working on with @Gear .
I think Cali colors confuse most high stakes players.

most likely used to Vegas (Bellagio/Aria) colours
Colors can be confusing! I was recently playing in a .25/.50 game with Cali color chips. The game was aggressive, but this one hand in the blinds it actually limped around to me, and I had squeezing cards, so I meant to raise to $12, but somehow, those yellow fives confused me and I made it $21. I have no excuse or explanation, but I know if those fives were red, that wouldn’t have happened.

Ahhhh, the horror of the thought. My absolute favorite $1 chip. Sentimental, because it’s the first set I went after like my life depended on it.
